S2 starts tomorrow on Apple TV featuring some excellent new cast additions from Killing Eve- Fiona Shaw and Owen McDonnell.

Trailer looks like it’ll be as good as S1

Things have got a lot more interesting this week!

I’m still mostly finding it a slog to watch and the lazy writing / lack of research is annoying me. Like with the money transfer stuff - I don’t think you can just empty a child trust fund unless you’re transferring it to another account for the same child.

It’s a bit unbelievable that Eva would give up that easily after being told which house he lived in. Not very plausible for her to just take no for an answer and not stake it out for a bit! Also why does nobody ever have a solicitor present during a police interview?!

This stuff would probably bother me less if the storytelling hadn’t fallen so badly off a cliff this series. But the second half of this episode has made me want to keep watching.

Tiramisusie · 18/12/2024 13:18

Only just learned there’s only 1 episode left - thought we had another 3 to go!

Frozensnow · 18/12/2024 23:00

Im glad it’s finally got going. This episode was much better than the last few have been. We knew Ian was dodgy so no surprise there. I didn’t think his sister would really be dead but I wasn’t expecting her to be his wife and they have kids. Feeling a bit sorry for poor blanaid who has lost her dad, her mum, and now her step dad is a fraudster who just wanted her money. Not sure how you’d get past all that at 14 really.

on the plus side, with Ian having fake ID, the bank will have to give her back the money I suppose?

Wallasey123 · 19/12/2024 19:22

Ohhh glad I found this thread for a mini rant. I loved S1 so was really excited for S2 but it’s so lazy and nothing feels put together or properly resolved, I’m starting to just dislike the sisters with each episode, they all just seem a bit pathetic now 😭 What’s everyone’s prediction for the final episode? I actually think I’ll be annoyed if it ends on a cliffhanger with so much unresolved and gets another season

the last episode is called cliffhanger so it might do. I hope not though, it would annoy me too!

the things that are annoying me are Ursula’s pill taking and almost being suspended never being mentioned again. The lack of focus on the sisters home lives annoys me. I loved that in season one. Now they all just seem to not work and gather together in one second. Even though Ursula and bibi have kids- they just never seem to see them. Were mollys teeth ok?! We will never know. usurla probably doesn’t know either, she never seems to see her kids.

Netaporter · 19/12/2024 22:13

I’m assuming that Cliffhanger refers to the fact that the opening scene of ep1 features the sisters with a car at the edge of a cliff?

I think so. But I also did wonder if it would be a literal cliffhanger. Like the episode boom. Angelica got hit by the boom but it was also a Boom! Moment

Mollys teeth! Eva’s reaction to that was so shitty as her aunt. I get Bla has been through a lot but come ON, you have other nieces and nephews too. Surely if they focused each episode on a sister they could at least give us more satisfactory stories.

Also I’m whingeing but will I watch the last episode? Ofcourse 😅…just hope Houlihan is kept to a minimum (a terrible replacement for Claffin)

martinisforeveryone · 20/12/2024 13:19

Aaaah but is Houlihan going to totally redeem herself?

Maybe by catching Ian/Cormac? But then he knows too much about the sisters and JP so he’ll be conveniently driven off the cliff or something I’m thinking

DuncinToffee · 21/12/2024 12:55

Is the abused woman in the Ian/Cormac file the pregnant woman who opened the door to Eva?

martinisforeveryone · 21/12/2024 17:20

Yes she's his wife, I think domestic violence against his spouse was briefly seen on his record when Houlihan accessed it? Happy to be put straight if I misconstrued that, because to be honest, I didn't look at her enough to clock she's pregnant again. She's also the woman he said was his deceased sister, which was his reason for going to the bereavement support group.

Ah ofcourse, she was the woman on the sister photo as well

There was a picture in the file of a woman with bruises on her face and neck.

irishfeminist · 21/12/2024 21:49

How did Ian have no friends or family or work colleagues at his wedding and for the sisters to know nothing at all about his background? That's pretty much impossible in Ireland, for a 50 year old to be such a blank slate. And why was he given custody of Bla, he's hardly known her a year and is a male with no background checks in charge of a vulnerable teenage girl. It doesn't make sense.

MonkeyTennis34 · 22/12/2024 12:25

Sorry if this has already been mentioned but when is the final episode on?

Loving series 2 but not quite as much as series 1.

tennissquare · 22/12/2024 12:46

@MonkeyTennis34 , the IMDb app says 24th Dec, it's called Cliff Hanger.

MonkeyTennis34 · 23/12/2024 08:14

@tennissquare
Thanks
I'll catch up on it in the new year!

Wallasey123 · 24/12/2024 22:59

Last episode is out! I actually did really like it… I also think it’s definitely the end

Just watched it. Also think that’s it for the series. Very entertaining!

Anyone know where the very last scene was filmed, where the ashes were put in the sea?

ticketstickets · 25/12/2024 00:39

I am full of questions about this episode. (Spoilers)

  1. Why do the sisters drive Ians body to co. Donegal?
  1. The guards go to talk to Ian in hospital. Presumably he would have been taken to a hospital near the cliffs. But they are clearly in Dublin, on the quays, v recognisable buildings in view.
  1. Do guards really stick together in that way? Ie hooligan is threatened with not being promoted if she goes after Ian. Why would a Dublin guard care about an ex psni officer that much? Not even the same police force.
irishfeminist · 25/12/2024 10:25

They don't drive him to Donegal, they mention somewhere nearby.

They definitely said Sliabh Liag which is in Donegal.

irishfeminist · 25/12/2024 10:40

Oh sorry I stand corrected. I thought it was a beach near them. That's a massive drive in real life, you don't really get a sense of that!

Also, why has "Cormac Sweeney", from Donegal and a PSNI ex member, got a southside Dublin accent? I was waiting for him to break into pure Donegal when unmasked but no.

XmasShixmas · 25/12/2024 10:43

@irishfeminist do you often have a problem with the willing suspension of disbelief 😀
