On ye go

OP posts:

I'm continuing to agree with you @ConstantlyFuriosa Grin

ConstantlyFuriosa · 12/11/2024 14:46

Well, there has to be at least two of us ‘Ali obsessives’ on the thread to even things out, @MrsPeterHarris !

More manipulation from Big Brother

Is that possible when it's a live show?

Paperclipp · 12/11/2024 14:54

OldFred · 12/11/2024 14:19

@JaneJeffer BB's soundtrack this series has been spot on 👌
I've really enjoyed it.
I thought I was the only one who paid attention to the song choices 😅

I'm also really tuned into the soundtrack..That's Not My Name by The Ting Tings for Baked Potato's interview intro was pure genius
I've 'harvested' a lot of songs from previous series that I'd not come across..am always holding Shazam up to the tv.

Or, she was very distracted what with being up for eviction the third time, along with her friend, and it was all surface talk and not deep at all.

I don't believe for a second she doesn't remember saying it. She was very direct in what she was saying and she kept slyly looking over to Emma... it wasn't a breezy remark she'd forget.

Maybe, or Ali could have thought about it, then went back to Emma and said yeh I remember Lily was asking me about housemates left round the sofa as we felt I was likely to go and this was our last time to have a chat about stuff that has been going on in the house?

Aquarius1234 · 12/11/2024 14:58

What was so funny about the conversation was it was literally over in seconds. We already saw 95% of it on the sneak peak! Felt duped.

CellophaneFlower · 12/11/2024 15:01

Aquarius1234 · 12/11/2024 14:25

Ali has only been with her girlfriend for 5 months and admitted to having various unhealthy relationships previously and also being the one to often break up with people.
I'm not sure I'd want a relationship with Ali...

Something is up with that relationship imo anyway. The way she over reacted to the joke kiss marcello thing and kept saying "but I have a girlfriend" just seemed odd to me. Like she's been accused of similar before 🤔 Or perhaps the gf doesn't like her past as she's been with men? Obvs I wouldn't have a clue and I'm probably reaching, but it just seemed an extreme reaction so early on in a relationship.

The clips they show aren’t live. Not unless they cut to live action from the house.

Yes, that would’ve been better. I really don’t think any of it was as calculated as people are making out, though.

OldFred · 12/11/2024 15:10

Aquarius1234 · 12/11/2024 14:43

Me thinks Ali is high maintenance. I'm sure her GF workships her atm.. I bet everything has to be perfect.
Maybe she's good for a fling ?

😁 "workships her"

Methinks your Freudian slip is very apt there, especially with Ali being a psychologist 👌

She was just being very disingenuous re the talking about Emma thing.
The faux surprise and shock when put on the spot about it by Emma.
Because surely she knows the viewers and BB have seen it all.

So quick to forge allies with Nathan once BP had been evicted and immediately make it about "them" and "us" , again reiterating the "they're picking us off, one by one" comment.

Yeah we have no idea, but I thought it was strange that in her VT intro Ali made a point to say its only 5 months so we will see? I reckon it was probably less, people always seem to exaggerate how long they have been dating someone.
To me that is like a good thing to say before going on a reality TV show, Oh I am seeing someone but its early days, so you know something might happen in the house with another person...
But then a few weeks later her GF gives her a dramatic telephone message that is very OTT practically saying we are together forever your my person bla bla bla.
Then last night we have the IVF talk with Ali saying its early days but this potentially needs to happen ASAP... 38/40/42 is no big deal these days.

ConstantlyFuriosa · 12/11/2024 15:11

Case in point re perspectives. As Segun was making his ‘heartfelt’ decision and not wanting to ‘hurt anyones feelings’, I was thinking: ugh, you absolute tosser. You know exactly what you’re doing here. And his reasons were bullshit.

But then other people saw a nice guy with oh, such a tough decision to make. We all see things differently and the world would be a very boring place if we did not.

ConstantlyFuriosa · 12/11/2024 15:18

And then when Ali asked Segun if he could just be honest when he was nominating her, as she’d feel a lot better about it, he gave some other vague response, but earlier we’d seen him saying to Marcello and Hanah that he had to take his core through to the final, or something suchlike. And let’s not forget all the red witch/wolf comments which he said were a joke. I watched that conversation and he wasn’t joking.

So they’re all fallible. Even someone as supposedly anodyne as Segun.

Edit: and I don’t see anyone calling him an ‘evil, toxic bitch’.

OldFred · 12/11/2024 15:20

Oh I didn't like the reasons Segun gave either @ConstantlyFuriosa
To be fair there have been very few honest reasons given for the face to face nominations.
I think Thomas has been pretty fair with his, especially when it was Lily. But honestly all tbe reasons he consistently gave were all the same things we've said about Lily on here so 🤷‍♀️
Other than that, it's been very much cop out reasons.
My fave of the series was Emma voting for Dean " because I know he just wants to go home to Reece".
Dean was fuming!!!!! (And I was cackling, evil witch that I am! 😆)

ConstantlyFuriosa · 12/11/2024 15:23

Oh, that comment of Emma’s was such a classic cop out @OldFred - the sort of reason they used to give back in the day and were actually told off for, if I recall correctly? BB used to insist on ‘full and frank’ reasons for nominations.

OldFred · 12/11/2024 15:38

I think that's actually one of my top moments of this series.
Dean couldn't very well say "No I don't want to go home to Reece" on camera could he, knowing Reece is watching.
Seeing Dean squirm with rage whilst pretending to be OK with Emma's decision was BB gold.
He was between a rock and a very very hard place.
He was furious!!
(And still was, at his eviction interview)

Absolute class act from Emma. Bravo! 👏😁

He did have to make a decision though and he obviously wasn't going to pick his mates. I don't think there was anything calculated about it. If there was, he could have done better than choosing somebody that they must assume isn't popular due to public reaction.

They did, but then people would still give ridiculous reasons like "he always leaves the loo seat up and it really irritates me".

I think a valid reason in Segun's case was "I like Ali but there are people I'm closer to in the house". Absolutely nothing personal and can't really be called a cop out.

Emma was a let down with Dean though as she should have said it was regarding his comments to Sarah, as it was.

And if Ali had done that she would have been a bitch

BakedBeansforabrain · 12/11/2024 17:17

bad news for the Ali haters

To win;

4/6 Ali Bromley
4/1 Marcello Spooks
17/2 Hanah Haji
10/1 Emma Morgan
33/1 Nathan King
35/1 Segun Shodipo
50/1 Sarah Griffiths
50/1 Thomas Atkinson

Ali's as low as 1/2. Think it's pretty much a done deal at this point.

The point I was making is that I perceived his actions as sly and putting on an act to seem like the nice guy, as per. Yes he had to make a decision but I thought he did it in an underhanded way, making himself out to be so conflicted about it in the diary room and to the people he put up, yet behind their backs and to his mates, he was all: ‘oh, I had to take you guys through to the final.’

I totally thought he was a complete wanker in those moments, whereas you thought he was merely making a decision with nothing calculated about it at all.

I don’t really understand betting odds. Is Misogynello second favourite to win?

Thanks for the laughs but I'm leaving this thread now as I think I've just seen a spoiler on here so stopped reading. I wish there had been a bigger warning on the post as most are safe to read.

Enjoy.

Ah, sorry. I didn't realise he was referring to a clip shown, thought he meant part of the actual L&L show!
