I'm only just begining to remember Shane and Jamie are in the competition. Neither's had many dances looking like themselves, plus Shane's natural style isn't vastly dissimilar to Pete's although minus visible tattoos.

The next few weeks look very open on who's in Dance Off danger and no obvious weakest contestant.

Samcro · 06/11/2024 14:40

i always forget Jb and montel. nearly always Shane too. except this week when he was on last. I like Montel. but apart from her CC, the dances are not very exciting. I can't remember when she did something apart from a waltz type.

I am very obsessed with Vito. I loved him last year but this year I absolutely adore him.

As you say, both cute and adorable but incredibly sexy too.

I was looking earlier for a calendar for 2025 and searched (unsuccessfully) for one of Vito. I definitely think there should be one as I think it would be very popular.

DH thinks it's hilarious especially when I am old enough to be his granny

This may already have been answered so sorry if I'm late to the party. Vito and Dianne are doing Burn The Floor 2025. Im going in June!

I am thinking of going. The only thing that puts me off a bit is that I really am not very keen on Diane but I guess I can put up with her to see Vito

I really feel for Amy. I read that cancer treatment can affect the feeling in your feet, so you might overwork and not realise until you’ve hurt yourself quite badly. Maybe that’s what happened? It might be that the foot she broke previously was still a little fragile and more susceptible to being re-injured anyway.
I wil enjoy watching Lauren, although I mean no disrespect to Amy. She’s a wonderful dancer.

You're right Amy has unfortunately broken her foot - huge disappointment for her.

I'm loving Dianne this year! The work she is doing with Chris is utterly amazing!

I think she is less annoying than other years but she still winds me up.

Oooo Jeanette on ITT has just announced they're bringing back the danceathon!! 23rd November they're all going to being a samba on the dance floor together.

I love the dancetahon - unpopular opinion I know. Let the chaos commence

Itsalwaysfools · 06/11/2024 18:38

Poor Amy. She just dissolved into tears and was overcome for a moment but confirmed that it's a stress fracture on her shin, not connected to anything else and could have happened to anyone.

topbarnicle · 06/11/2024 18:48

It's a great show. Saw it a few years ago with Kevin, JoJo and Graziano. I like both of them. I reckon it will be worth it for Vito alone though.

Sorry meant to quote @mydogisthebest

I love a danceathon great to see it back - shame it's the samba though. I would love to them repeat Lindyhop or go with the jive.

xsquared · 06/11/2024 19:01

Can't stand the dancethons. Just another chance for judges to rig the leaderboard, but otherwise a pointless waste of time.

Poor Amy being heartbroken on TV, but her health comes first and hopefully she will be recovered soon to participate in some way.

JB looking good with the samba so far. He has good music, so hopefully that will help him. There's a video of him and Lauren of doing the "leg lift challenge", but we all know that Katya started this years ago in the Matrix paso routine!

TennisWithDeborah · 06/11/2024 19:20

The danceathon was quite funny. Bruno of all people ended up sorting out the judges’ scoring mess.

It couldn’t be flatter than icons week, which really did not work.

MrsPeterHarris · 06/11/2024 20:10

I feel very sorry for Amy but wish she'd step away from Strictly now and let JB, Lauren & the show carry on without her constantly being there.

I'm inclined to agree but don't doubt that she'll be in the Clauditorium with the naturally eliminated dancers.

OP posts:
MrsPeterHarris · 06/11/2024 20:52

That's fine if it's still about the participants but if she's going to be crying, especially when it's JB & Lauren, then I really hope she stays away.

Redcrayons · 06/11/2024 23:49

Aw poor Amy.
Being well enough to come back on Strict obviously means so much to her, such a shame she’s benched over a stress fracture. I hope she is included as much as she wants to be.

MrsPeterHarris · 07/11/2024 07:14

I really don't @Redcrayons - as harsh as that sounds, it's not the Amy show, it's Strictly Come Dancing. Her being there & crying / trying not to cry distracts from the show & is especially unfair on JB & Lauren.

MarkWithaC · 07/11/2024 08:38

Much as I like Amy and am very aware of how upsetting all this is for her, I agree she needs to step away now. I'm sure there've been pros injured before and they didn't keep being on the show.

Bruno suddenly turning into the responsible adult was a hilarious and quite delightful surprise, I agree Grin
I don't mind danceathons but I am sick of the bloody samba this year! Also, as a travelling dance I'm not sure it's really suitable. And a dance that has a history of being used in danceathons (jive, lindy) is surely much more in the spirit?

Figgygal · 07/11/2024 08:50

The daily fail are reporting a line up shake up with Nadya, Karen, gorka, Neil and Katya at risk of the chop and JoJo looking to quit.
I keep wondering how many years Karen will go on for but I'd see Luba go before any of those listed shes never broken through for me.

Lentilweaver · 07/11/2024 08:54

I hope not. Katya and Karen are the best female pros, IMO. Karen has got a long series of duffers in the last 10 years.

MarkWithaC · 07/11/2024 08:54

I could live without Nadiya, although I do think she's been a bit unfairly served with partners. Neil: meh. Wouldn't miss him,
Karen, though Shock I can imagine her leaving but don't know why they might want rid of her. She's one of the best. Same with Gorka. And getting rid of Katya would be a major mistake; she's the best choreographer and she often works wonders with people who you think are going to be duffers. She's one of the best for entertainment. And a spectacular dancer.

Lentilweaver · 07/11/2024 09:00

I posted upthread about attending the Robin Windsor tribute. It got me thinking about how shortlived and precarious a dancer's life is. We dont know the circumstances of his passing but Lisa Riley spoke of his deep depression after leaving Strictly and his struggles with injury.

There was a lot of talk about reaching out to your friends when depressed, but in my experience most people have compassion fatigue these days and are only focusing on themselves. Its only when someone passes that people go on about reaching out for help.IRL they just ghost you.
Sorry, tangent!

Tasha did a Charleston.

Which was technically brilliant but, to me, lacked humour and zaniness.
