In the past I've sometimes found Katya's choreography unnecessarily gimmicky but at least you never get the feeling she is disengaged with the show or slacking. She always seems to get her celebs as far as they could go. I wouldn't like Gorka or Karen to leave, even though Karen's partnerships don't always work.

I feel a bit sorry for the likes of Nadiya and Luba as they end up with whoever is tallest and never get a ringer but neither of them have made enough impact in all their years.

Not happy that the -athons are coming back. They are always a confused mess and not much of a viewing spectacle. I miss the days when the celebs had to do two dances from the quarter-final onwards but, if we can't get that back, I would suggest that the post-Blackpool way of lengthening the show and generating more interest in Week 10 and Musicals Week would be to make the couples do longer dances. Three minutes instead of one minute and however many seconds it is now. Even discounting all the faff, a lot of the dances feel like they are over before they have even begun.

I've been meaning to ask: why it is 'inevitable' that Sarah & Vito would dance to Proud by Heather Small? (I don't know the song, I don't think).

Katya is incredible - she's one of the best! no way can they chop her.

JoJo I imagine has had heaps of lucrative offers due to his personality so I can see why he might want to move on.

I agree that making the dances a bit longer later in the series would be good.

I think Karen may have long term injuries that limit the number of weeks that she can compete in the competition. JoJo is in Kinky Boots from Jan. They prefer professionals who can go on the live tour and help ticket sales, ie Vito, Kai, Nikita.

Does she? That's tough on her if so. But isn't she going on tour with Gorka?

I live the dance athons. All the contestants on a level playing field.

Although surely Chris & Diane would be at a huge disadvantage in a Danceathon? I’m also a fan, but unsure how they could make that inclusive.

I'm not sure it is, really. Some pros will be better than others at floorcraft ie getting seen by the judges. And there must be an element of luck in how much you get seen/if they can see you doing your best moves etc.
A really level playing field would be going back to them all doing the same dance each week.

Katya I would HATE to see go and I agree Karen has been very ill served with partners, although if her injuries mean she deliberately gets duffers that's another thing ... seems v unfair though that she's become the female Anton.

Neil, bye! Nadiya - I suspect too much friction between her and Kai and if one has to give it's her. But also agree it's gutting if Luba who has the personality of a steamed pudding gets to stay. Gorka has been a bit meh for a while even with good partners, I just dont' feel it.

If JoJo leaves they have a massive diversity problem and really need to quickly find a dancer of colour to replace someone ...

Teh best dancers for me right now are Lauren, Carlos, Kai, Dianne and ... the amazing Vito

I think the report is a load of old bollocks personally can't see them getting shut of either Katya or JoJo or Karen.

Potentially changing almost 50% of the pro line up in one fell swoop is madness! The powers that be must be aware most pros need a bedding in period before the public warm to them. I haven't been a fan of the direction of travel the show has taken in terms of themes, faffing, poor music choices etc but if they compound that by dumping most of the experienced pros, presumably to be replaced by a gaggle of youngsters, it could be the end of the road for me.

Until something has been announced officially, either on the individual's social media or through the BBC news website, I'm taking the leaving reports with a huge pinch of salt.

If they axed Katya I wouldn’t renew my TV licence!

If they want to freshen up the show, there are other things they could do. Getting rid of the likes of Katya would seem counterproductive.

A DeadNan's favourite song should be by Val Doonican or Matt Monro, not Tina Turner. I thought Pete was meant to be an expert at this reality TV stuff.

A quickstep to Walk Tall or a foxtrot to Delaney's Donkey, perhaps.

Paddy McGinty's Goat would certainly make for an interesting contempowaft.
