This might be controversial but I'd sooner keep Paul who is applying himself and showing signs of improvement than some of the already trained dancers. He might not have much actual talent but he's also been dealt a pretty tough hand in terms of the dance choices so far.

I just can't get past his abusive past, personally.
Also, last night he made a joke about teaching Craig how to kick a ball properly in 2 days, or something. Yes, quite, but he's in the same boat as many other celebs on the show.

Clawdy · 20/10/2024 14:32

I thought the "kickabout" joke was implying Paul would give Craig a kicking!

No, he said something like he'd see if he could make him any good by Tuesday

BogRollBOGOF · 20/10/2024 15:13

I'm surprised that so many of the middle-aged footballers are so clumpy.
OK, football isn't necessarily going to make your hips shimmy or give great lines to your arms, but surely there must be some kind of muscle memory from years of football agility in the feet and legs.

EvilRingahBitch · 20/10/2024 17:25

I can't remember there ever being a decent soccer player on SCD/DWTS apart from Alex Scott (who was OK but not exceptional). Hope Solo did well in the US but didn't score brilliantly. A couple of very good looking men were on Ballando con le Stelle: I don't know whether they were good.

I liked David James but that had very little to do with his dancing.

Still haven't given up hope of Royal Ballet School ringer Rio Ferdinand finally returning their calls.

I thought he was simply trying to say that he was doing his best to learn and absolute beginners aren't going to get better straightaway.

No, not at all. Just that it takes time to learn a new skill and he'd like to see how Craig would get on kicking a ball after only a few days practice.

Thanks for new thread. My thoughts from last night:

JB enjoyed it at the time but had forgotten him by the end - could he be in trouble?

Punam kidzwarz but he was so cute it's forgivable. I thought it was a simple but very charming dance and she was severely undermarked again!! She's really trying so hard.

Jamie I could see he had good shaping and I love a trad paso, but I felt it wasn't worth 10's! No way. 8/9's would have been fine. He seems to be a production/judges favourite and not sure why??

Chris was amazing again, Shirls was right his footwork was noticeably brilliant. He deserved higher scores than Jamie to me.

Tasha. It didnt feel like a very sharp tango to me - lots of spinning round and round? I like a bumpy filthy tango and it just didn't give me the tango shivers! I did think the singer was better singing lower than the screeching I was expecting.

Paul. Oh goodness. Karen you're a trooper. The DIY comment was exactly right. He did manage the basic steps in time ish but that's about it. Yes some improvement but not enough.

Sam more kidzwarz but again forgiven for cuteness. The judges were very harsh again. I enjoyed it a lot!! Bless Nikita it looked like he was cuddling her to try to protect her from the comments - she seemed so sad but loved her comments in the Clauditorium. She's a real competitor.

Pete - I could barely take my eyes off Jowita's incredibly toned arms and calves. I swear I'm straight but she could def turn me. Goddess, even in a soaked shower curtain. I actually quite enjoyed it. I watched back this afternoon with no sound and it was better without the Oasis howling! Pete is growing on me, he did some decent moves and I liked his arm movements. And the otter remake made me chuckle.

Sarah there's something smug about her that annoys me but Vito is incredible and adorable and the only reason to save her

Shane ooh and MumWarz! They were nobbled with such dull dull outfits. I thought he was better this week, strong lifts, more emotion, I quite enjoyed it.

Wynne well the wardrobe dept was definitely making sure we could see his footwork with those socks and ankle grazers! I thought he was going to face plant that bench! I did wonder if Katya choreo'ing him being shit on was a message Grin def overmarked - no way was he only 1/2 points less than Tasha and Chris. Ridiculous. The comment about reviewing Craig's album annoyed me - I expected Craig to snap right back but he went all soft. Bah!

Montel. And we finish with FamilyWarz and a dead Nan, powerful stuff! I love JoJo and glad he's not got a duffer. It did feel short to me and it was fun, but again not 10's worthy to me. Again like Jamie I'd have been fine with 8/9's. Didn't have the heart and utter brilliance of Hamza and Jowita's one.

I really wish the judges wouldn't over mark in early weeks as where do they go from there?

I gave one vote each to Punam, Sam and Pete.

I'd like to see Paul and Wynne in the dance off. Paul to go.

An ungenerous characterisation would be that it's a variation on "How dare you criticise me for not dancing brilliantly despite that being your actual job. Don't you know that I've NeverDancedBefore ™️?"

Yup. As i said earlier, others are in the same boat as Paul and don't whine about it

GrouchyKiwi · 20/10/2024 19:21

Hello my ducks. Hoping Paul dances his last this evening.

the80sweregreat · 20/10/2024 19:21

Here we goooooo!
But also, we do we now get so much waffle from the judges on the results show? We get this bumf at the start and then the other bit. Would rather have more post show/post performance bits from the contestants.

NCTDN · 20/10/2024 19:25

I'd prefer Paul to stay tbh.

movingonok · 20/10/2024 19:25

Anyone else get Pete and Shane mixed up?

CrushingOnRubies · 20/10/2024 19:25

Love Tess' ice queen look

OccasionalHope · 20/10/2024 19:25

Pete looks really worried.

ilovesooty · 20/10/2024 19:26

Here we go.

So he should. His hair is still wet from the showerGrinGrin

ilovesooty · 20/10/2024 19:27

Pete doesn't look too thrilled

CatDogGuineaPig · 20/10/2024 19:27

Booo... I wanted Pete to go

Couldn't work out if that was an eye roll of relief or of oh god
