CBA to find their full name to be honest. C5 should definitely provide us with the company names and business accounts and maybe the povvos budgets lol.

Just watched this. What happened to Michelle's husband and Sue's son?

rosegoldJune · 19/01/2025 22:06

What happened to Michelle’s husband/partner? And why would you put your debt letters on the fridge? It was hinting all the way through with Michelle!

Blondeshavemorefun · 20/01/2025 09:15

I’m literally watching now as too tired last night. Haven’t read replies and won’t till the end

but where is sues son ?

rare to live with mil and get on so well

where is Michelle’s mum ?

but no mention of dad

did he do a runner and why sue feels guilty and why they all live with her ?

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 20/01/2025 09:18

Oh. Poor mum/nanny Her partner died of cancer

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 20/01/2025 09:38

Seems to be a good swap so far. Showing the difficulties when have less money /smaller house

I did wonder where Ben would sleep as can’t get up the Stairs /use the bath
room

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 20/01/2025 10:08

Obv the Gannon family will help her create her dream of a charity

but that’s far better then the usual drivel of £30k free training to help be a better person

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 20/01/2025 10:45

@rosegoldJune @Odiebay

snap

first thing I wondered but we didn’t find out

and seems she moved in with mil after nigel the step dad died - that’s what Michelle’s mum said - March 2023 so fairly recently

yes I thought their debts would be paid - was about a grand

but found this. The foundation

and twice Tobys dad was mentioned as daddy

so where is he ?

I was interested to see this program as I follow Rick Gannon on Facebook. They did a "live" on Sunday night after the show aired & answered quite a lot of questions. For example - yes Ben, the son with CP, did sleep on the mattress on the floor all week. They were filmed for 12 hrs a day for 6 days ,- so a huge amount of editing (obviously!). Also the £2,000 per week was capped. They are still in touch with the family & supporting them with the charity.
I also read in a newspaper article that Michelle's partner does live in the home but didn't want to be part of the show.

Blondeshavemorefun · 21/01/2025 09:13

Interesting @Smashedavacadothat he didn’t want to be part of the show

also makes it different as she isn’t a single parent then as show made out

and why so many money struggles

dad can work full time

I get why she doesn’t due to sn kid and lovely she volunteers at the nursery her son goes to

poor Ben. He had the worst week no doubt

anywah sleeping on a floor in a matress isn’t good but esp due to his conditions

I guessed £2k is capped as never over that

great he is helping with the charity

Is there a link to the live bit if it was recorded

be interested to watch

I thought the swap was good and highlighted the diff between money and no money and disability

Smashedavacado · 21/01/2025 22:28

Blondeshavemorefun
The "live" & various other posts can be seen on Rick Gannon's Facebook page.
I agree about Michelle's partner. We can only surmise why he chose not to appear. It does however present some questions about their financial situation as it always does.
I do think though that most of the figures with a pinch of salt - it's all just for our entertainment after all!

Blondeshavemorefun · 22/01/2025 12:56

Thanks @Smashedavacado. Will go for a nose

It grated a bit when they kept saying v-log instead of vlog!

Blondeshavemorefun · 22/01/2025 21:12

I watched the 20m live video but missed any mention of dad

Wow really

If that's the case why on earth didn't they just say that then?!

That's just lying cos they literally said it was just them. And I don't understand why you wouldn't just say the truth

Blondeshavemorefun · 22/01/2025 22:09

Yep. Made out struggling single parent family

assume dad works so why so much in debt and behind bills

esp as mums house so not as if they had 2 homes and bills and mortgages etx

OP posts:
purpleme12 · 22/01/2025 22:13

That's really annoyed me that

More than anything else on the programme!

Smashedavacado · 23/01/2025 08:48

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-14291201/amp/single-mother-autistic-child-rich-house-poor-house.html
This is the article.
I noticed on one of Rick Gannon's post that someone commented thanking him for helping her daughter - two clicks later & I was on her page. I'm not usually a Facebook stalker but I was very curious!! Lots about the Nigel Prosser Foundation which incidentally I think is very admiral, but also further back posts & photos that don't look like an especially poverty stricken household. The DM post was also shared on it which would suggest it's correct.
I've always been quite sceptical about this programme precisely because of the figures - I have quite a lot of experience with benefits (especially disability ones) & do a lot of budgeting with people on low incomes so do find myself "shouting at the TV" when it's on!
On the plus side though this episode was less about giving money to the "poor family" than usual - it gave a boost to the charity which will benefit many children with SEN (which she says was her main motivation). Additionally the Gannons benefitted from the positive publicity & seemed to enjoy the experience so it's probably best to focus on that.

Blondeshavemorefun · 23/01/2025 10:03

Thanks @Smashedavacado

i can only assume he doesn’t work or else why so much behind in rent etx

plus with 2 salaries surely they wouldn’t get much in uc

I get michelle doesn’t work due to sn son and think it’s great she volunteers at his pre school

and does that mean the £147 a week is to feed and look after 3 adults and 2 kids
