Keep Dancing!

Will link the Spoiler and Video Thread in posts below, not as clever as Polka for embedding links!

The gifts of Wynne and Katya on Twitter from last nights show aren't good. Him sliding his hand round her and her removing it. Him going for a high ten and her pulling a disgusted face and turning away from him.

No. And their apologies seem fake. Such a shame. I thought they made a good partnership.

Lentilweaver · 13/10/2024 09:05

The apologies are suss, as DD would say. I guess the female pros are sick of being groped and who can blame them?

awaynboilyurheid · 13/10/2024 09:07

Chris was amazing once again ! Diane is doing a fab job and she looked so happy dancing to the Land down under tune.
Punam was poor this week did not agree with Shirley her kicks/ flicks were awkward there was not much jive content.
Loved Montana and Johannes just a lovely dance no faffing about.
Who ever decided Jaime should wear those shorts he looked like a schoolboy totally ridiculous, he got a bit better but wasn’t great at the beginning of the dance.
What happened to football man ( forgotten his name) he actually danced! Again Karen deserves a medal!
Love Claudia’s line who knew Vito was catching! She’s so good.

I wondered that. But why does it matter if she is being interviewed and the interviewer is in front of her?

There is a video online where tash explains really well about how her implant works and she said it is easier for her to have him stand there so she can hear both him and the judges.

outdamnedspots · 13/10/2024 09:21

Fair enough! Thanks, @Chrysanthemum5

ilovesooty · 13/10/2024 10:33

I wouldn't be too surprised if someone mid table ends up in the dance off tonight.

I wouldn't be surprised either.

I am valiantly not looking at the spoiler thread though I want to very much because I'm nervous for Punam (I know she was bottom of the table) and Sarah.

Haha yes that was a cracker from Claudia. Grin

Same.

I have some work to do today which will hopefully distract me enough to wait for tonight's show!

Oh and she’s a pro…. I know that’s not her fault and it’s the producers, but I am so riled by it. And I shouldn’t be because IT’S ONLY A SHOW 🤦🏻‍♀️

I have no interest in watching professional dancers as contestants.
They know they will nail the routine. So does any viewer with sense.

gingercat02 · 13/10/2024 12:23

Only caught up fully this morning and missed the vote last night.
The marking, singing, and most of the costumes were all over the place.
I'm not sure I really enjoyed any of it 🥲

The marking was ridiculous, it seemed they were just making up scores without seeing the dances. Costumes were not flattering to many of the couples. Music was bizarre

LookItsMeAgain · 13/10/2024 13:53

I’ve watched the show back and I think Nick Knowles might be in danger. His costume reminded me of The Grand Budapest Hotel or a prison for some reason and not Paddington Bear. I know he’s injured but I was expecting a lot more energy so I think his days in the show are numbered.

LookItsMeAgain · 13/10/2024 13:55

I know a lot of people are saying that this year Chris will win but I’m not so sure as I really like Sarah & Vito and Wynne & Katya. I think both of those couples stand a very good chance of staying in the competition for a long time.

(edited to correct the spelling of his name)

That's been a constant feature of this show for years though.

The scene was Paddington in jail, after he had washed the prison uniforms with a red sock, hence the pink

I take it you haven't seen Paddington 2? Paddington is in prison in the film and there is a big song and dance number (choreographed by CRH) starring a very camp Hugh Grant. Tis a thing of beauty - Nick & Luba's version, not so much.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 13/10/2024 14:06

I think Chris will win because what Dianne is achieving is off the scale. It's mind blowing

I'd actually like to watch more footage of them training

It'll make a change from footage of abusive male dancers, anyway..........

Pumpkincozynights · 13/10/2024 14:15

I didn’t know Nick’s routine was based onPaddington admittedly I haven’t seen Paddington 2. I did wonder why they were dressed like that.
NK gives me the creeps. I have no evidence but I would not be surprised if he turned out like a lot of famous men have.
Also Wynne and his wandering hands. I will not be voting for him anymore.
PM was apparently an out of control gambling addict and that is why his previous wife left him.
Not as bad as being a sex pest but still very flawed.
I’d much rather one of the women won.

Pumpkincozynights · 13/10/2024 14:15

Or Chris, who is doing a splendid job.

MouseMinge · 13/10/2024 14:45

I have a similar feeling about Tasha as I did about Layton last year. It doesn't matter how well they dance I won't vote for them because they're professionals. There are ringers and then there are the ringiest ringers. I'm not bothered if actors have done some dancing through their careers, or if a celeb did ballet as a child/teenager twenty or more years ago. They have an advantage, yes, but along comes a Chris, a Hamza, a Bill and there's innate talent/total joie de vivre and they win the show.

Last year Layton grated on me and I resented knowing he'd go through to the final. That became worse when Amanda left meaning there would be fewer couples in the final and his nailed on position had me actively disliking him for something that wasn't his fault.

This year I feel neutral about Tasha. She seems like a nice young woman and of course she dances well. I don't think I'll end up disliking her but I won't vote for her because all else - my prejudice mostly - she doesn't need my vote. Even when the number of couples will mean that even if you're near the top you could end up in the dance off if you get the lowest public vote, she'll be saved in a dance off.

Peachy2005 · 13/10/2024 14:59

Why does Aljaz do that awful gurning thing with his mouth while dancing? His jaw is in constant motion, surely judges must have pulled him up on it in the past... It makes a very appealing man look very unappealing, imo

Tess also looks odd in jumpsuits - I don’t think they suit her, or is it just me?

Didn’t enjoy last night overall 🥲 think the poor costumes and music choices over several weeks are starting to wear thin!

MouseMinge · 13/10/2024 15:35

This series has me worried that I'm losing my love for Strictly. I've not enjoyed an episode yet. Some dances have been reasonably enjoyable but they've all been very forgettable. Obviously this is on me, I know others might be enjoying lots of dances and I am enjoying Chris but if he's dancing later in the show I will forget him until he turns up. I'm pretty sure that if it wasn't for this thread I might have bailed by now or just be watching a handful of them on streaming. It makes me sad to feel like this about a show I've loved for nearly two decades.
