Margrete: Queen of the North - re-telling of events in 15th century with more plot twists than a Shakespear play - iPlayer

Not quite Nordic Noir as normally shown on BBC, but an historical drama about Queen Margrette who had created peace in Scandanavia thought a 3 country treaty.

Court and church politics, amazing castles, family tensions and betrayal. Nordic scenery.

And plots against the Queen.

In case anyone likes this sort of movie telling of history.

Was broadcast last night, but available on iPlayer.

Just want to say thanks for this, would not have known about it and it was so so good.

Glad to know it wasn't just me who thought it well worth watching.

Found it hard to keep up with the plot (but that's normal for me!) but also found it really interesting to learn bits of history I had no idea about.

Yes I had no idea of this at all. I did have to concentrate and got a bit confused about Olaf but they explained at the end as I was beginning to think I missed something.
