So sadly we lost Paul, the air has been chilly.
Bernie had a rave, and Summer is comforting Billy.
Todd is a dude, and David's quite a lark.
It'll be Christmas by the next thread, and really quite dark.

Cassie is a sly one, she's taking Ken in.
I wish the naughty scouser would get in the bin.
Gail and Audrey don't have much going on at the mo.
And Stu and Yasmeen are always on the go.

Poor Bethany was slim but she got liposuction.
The fallout from the procedure has caused quite a ruction.
She owes so many thousands, you just wouldn't believe.
The clinic have her passport so she simply can't leave.

Damon's creeped out of the woodwork for a minute.
It's none of his business but he's poked his nose in it.
Offering Sarah dodgy cash he's got hidden away.
Sarah may have to take it. It may be the only way.

The pub is fairly quiet, and not much going on there
Daisy, Jenny, and Glenda all have fab hair!
Daniel is fussing around Bethany all the time
And people blame him for Bethany, like he's committed a crime.

Fizz is very pregnant, but may not keep the baby.
Tyrone really wants to, and says 'can we, maybe?'
Hope and Ruby fancy a new sister or brother.
But we know who'll be looking after it, Yep, the mother!

Carla and Lisa are vibing quite nice.
You can see their reactions when they look in each others eyes.
Mason's trying to go straight, but is he for real?
Or will he go back to his old ways, and bully and steal?

Kit has been fairly quiet, and the quads have been too!
What's the point of the quads, what do they even do?
Can't think of much else going on right now.
And can't get this last bit to rhyme. Grin

The actor who plays Sam is the son of a director for the show.
Nepotism at its finest.

Shellingbynight · 24/10/2024 13:07

So we don’t see Joel’s body or funeral, it’s all offscreen. Corrie is so weird these days though, Gail has been absent for half her own storyline.

I remember Gail’s heart attack caused by the stress of goings on with her family, it was the excuse for her trip to Thailand (I assumed Helen was unwell).

Plenty of David with some great lines, “you marry Gail, you die.” Lewis didn’t even get as far as marrying her.

Leanne leaving Nick in his flat on his own is inevitably going to end up with Toyah back there with him. Once mardy Sam gets over it.

Far too much Swain, DD and Kit.

Oh gawd! So he's a nepo-baby?! 😖

I mean nepotism is as annoying as fcuk anyway, but you can almost deal with when the actor or actress is good. Angelina Jolie, Bridget Fonda, Jane Fonda, Peter Fonda, Eric Roberts, Emma Roberts, Emily Atack, The Baldwins, the Redgraves, the Sheens/Estivezs etc etc. But when they're shite like Jude Riorden, with no screen presence, or gumption, or passion. or decent delivery in his lines, just no! His wispy voice is infuriating. I guess if he's got a dad who is influential in the making of the show though, he won't be going anywhere anytime soon!

As a pp said, he is a character that was created but not really needed, (why did Nick have to have a 10 y.o. child he never knew existed by a woman he dated for 5 minutes?!) Confused
Like why did Gemma and Chesney have to have bloody quads?! I stil struggle to fathom why they let Gemma go to full term when she was expecting quads, and they would have known that way back in the pregnancy And also, wasn't it a natural birth (4 births!!)? I'm pretty sure that wouldn't have happened either. They'd have had her booked in for a c-section about 3 weeks before they were due. Daft storyline.

Also, Bobby (Carla's brother Rob's son) was also never ever mentioned before, even though he's about what? 22. 23...? Didn't it turn out that Carla didn't know about him all these years? She was with her brother Rob about 10-15 years ago for ages when he was in Corrie (5 years.) Yet she never knew about his son. He would have had him about 10-12 years at the time. Daft storyline really.

Are you sure its him thats the nepo baby because alsothe cute son of Tyrone is as well! Dad works on the show.

strugglingwithlife · 24/10/2024 15:55

Gemma had 3 of them by c section if I remember correctly, she had the first one on a cable car or something? Then was put under for the c section for the remaining 3?
I agree about Carla and Rob re Bobby

Shellingbynight · 24/10/2024 16:46

@EachandEveryone
Do you mean Dorin?
If so he's apparently the son of a stockport councillor, who tweeted about it at the time.

EachandEveryone · 24/10/2024 17:59

Ah I wonder if he will come back. Lovely boy.

nildesparandum · 24/10/2024 19:05

I had a strange feeling the Sam actor was related to someone!
I wonder as I posted upthread that the part was specially dreamed up for him?
If my memory serves me right, Gemma gave birth to quad number one in a cable car, with her leggings still intact!
Well Corrie writers, who is next to have a never spoken about before relative suddenly turning up ?.

bizzey · 24/10/2024 19:24

Long lost relatives are popping up everywhere in the soaps at the moment !

It's like long lost family on speed 😂

MichaelAndEagle · 24/10/2024 21:25

Aw am I alone in liking Sam?

bizzey · 24/10/2024 21:53

Was Joseph really going skiing for just 3 days ?

PiggieWig · 24/10/2024 22:45

‘Poor man’s Mr Tumble’ killed me. David’s still one of my favourites.

bizzey · 24/10/2024 22:48

David / Jack P. Shepherd deserves one of those life achievements awards .
You just know he is always going to deliver!

WiddlinDiddlin · 24/10/2024 22:48

I quite like Sam, and I like Jude in Brassic.

Davids lines last night cracked me, the 'Gails a greek myth, marry her then you die' had me splorting my tea out of my nose!

JellyBeanFactory · 25/10/2024 00:12

MichaelAndEagle · 24/10/2024 21:25

Aw am I alone in liking Sam?

I like him too 🤷‍♀️

bizzey · 25/10/2024 00:58

I hope they start to mature Sam though...

The can't keep him as this cute kid for ever ?

Though..I did like the dirty looks he was giving Toyah !

bizzey · 25/10/2024 01:09

Actually ...I take that back .
He is 13 ...he has time to grow.

Actually... thinking f my dc 's ...I really take it back !!

I think it is because they make the other kids grow up so fast ?

Hope is a nightmare!

PiggieWig · 25/10/2024 02:32

I quite like Sam too. Like Roy, I think he’s probably ND but they don’t make a big thing of it. Whereas Max seems to have grown out of his ADHD. I’m glad him and Lauren are back together though.

What happened to Sabrina and her goofy brother from the PRU? I wondered if he was one of the lads who were fishing when Joel‘a body floated by but it was a weirdly filmed, short clip.

I quite like Sam as well

FlibbertyGibbitt · 25/10/2024 06:39

Sorry but I find Sam really irritating. Just speaks in a monotone all the time . Been watching classic and Ches and Sophie are really animated compared to him.

Thequeenofwishfulthinking · 25/10/2024 06:42

@EachandEveryone 100% sure. I found an article online with photos of him and his dad confirming their relationship I’ve tried to attach it several times but it’s not working.
It seem likely the part was created for him following his stint in Brassic due to his father’s position.
I can’t see his role becoming long term as it will become increasingly difficult to justify his role as he matures. His performance is increasingly lacking compared to some of the other youngsters in the show currently.
The boy who plays Dorin is a natural. He steals the show in every scene he is in. He is very young to remember his lines and seems to have a gear connection with his onscreen ‘daddy Tyrone.’

Shellingbynight · 25/10/2024 08:12

I don't mind Sam now. He's too whimsical but they seem to be giving him a bit of light and shade now, and I think the actor's pretty good.

I think Jude was working on Corrie before his dad was? His dad has worked on Casualty and Emmerdale so doubtless has connections, but I don't think he was actually working on Corrie when Jude joined. And as others have said, Jude worked on Brassic before Corrie so he was 'known'.

Dorin is adorable, I really hope he makes a return.

Edited

If my memory is not wrong 2 were born naturally then she got into complications. The other 2 were born via c/section
