So sadly we lost Paul, the air has been chilly.
Bernie had a rave, and Summer is comforting Billy.
Todd is a dude, and David's quite a lark.
It'll be Christmas by the next thread, and really quite dark.

Cassie is a sly one, she's taking Ken in.
I wish the naughty scouser would get in the bin.
Gail and Audrey don't have much going on at the mo.
And Stu and Yasmeen are always on the go.

Poor Bethany was slim but she got liposuction.
The fallout from the procedure has caused quite a ruction.
She owes so many thousands, you just wouldn't believe.
The clinic have her passport so she simply can't leave.

Damon's creeped out of the woodwork for a minute.
It's none of his business but he's poked his nose in it.
Offering Sarah dodgy cash he's got hidden away.
Sarah may have to take it. It may be the only way.

The pub is fairly quiet, and not much going on there
Daisy, Jenny, and Glenda all have fab hair!
Daniel is fussing around Bethany all the time
And people blame him for Bethany, like he's committed a crime.

Fizz is very pregnant, but may not keep the baby.
Tyrone really wants to, and says 'can we, maybe?'
Hope and Ruby fancy a new sister or brother.
But we know who'll be looking after it, Yep, the mother!

Carla and Lisa are vibing quite nice.
You can see their reactions when they look in each others eyes.
Mason's trying to go straight, but is he for real?
Or will he go back to his old ways, and bully and steal?

Kit has been fairly quiet, and the quads have been too!
What's the point of the quads, what do they even do?
Can't think of much else going on right now.
And can't get this last bit to rhyme. Grin

What awful children Gail has (I mean, David is great but I still wouldn't want to be related to him!).

I'd be telling Sarah to fuck off and fund her daughter's stupidity herself.

JMSA · 26/10/2024 10:16

Dorin is adorable, I really hope he makes a return.

Aww, I loved that wee dude. And the random things he'd come out with on screen Grin

Jesse did say that Gail told him the only one she trusts is Nick (and even he's no saint!)

Deadringer · 26/10/2024 10:31

Sam was very popular when he first came into the show, I don't mind him but I think he is getting too much screen time. Dorin is a cutie but no doubt he will grow up just as awkward and annoying as the other child actors. David om the other hand is a star and I also would love to see him get some sort of recognition for his role.

Dontcallmescarface · 26/10/2024 10:50

I think I must be the only person who doesn't find Dorrin cute. I just wanted him to shut up so I could hear what the other characters were saying.

AmusedMaker · 26/10/2024 11:20

I can’t stand Sarah. So smug. And considering all the mistakes she’s made so critical of others.

Sam was ok when he 1st arrived but now he’s just annoying. The way he was having a go at his Dad for helping Toyah. Wow.

JMSA · 26/10/2024 12:05

It must be slightly easier playing a character like David, though, who's naturally funny and never has to go too deep with his storylines.
They must all be wishing they were him!
The actress who plays Mary for example, must curse her character! for being weird, annoying and completely unnecessary

JMSA · 26/10/2024 12:07

Yeah, and is it just me, or does she always sound like she has a cold? Kinda sniffly. Or snivelling.

Shellingbynight · 26/10/2024 13:37

Sarah is very smug nowadays, for no apparent reason!

David had a lot of dramatic (angry) storylines as a teen but he is more chilled out nowadays. He’s the only one I can think of who arrived as a child and remained brilliant the whole way through. Other child actors like Simon and Ches… not so much.

MoonWoman69 · 26/10/2024 16:25

I agree, David is my absolute favourite character by far. The rest of them can bugger off for me!
Nick with his weird frowning incredulous expression when anything is said to him, Sarah smirking constantly, no matter what's going on, Bethany all goggle eyed, whiny and annoying, Max trying to be too natural (awful actor!) Lily who serves no purpose at all, Sam all lispy and whispery, Gail, wishy washy and Audrey who can never work out if she's posh or not!!!
In fact, there aren't many characters I do like now!
I think there have been far too many stupid story lines, especially ones that have cropped up all of a sudden, no build up, we're just straight in!
I watched it with my mate a week yesterday, we both agreed something was off, the whole hour was a mish mash, it was jumping all over and we both said it was making us feel anxious as it was all over the place!
I think they need new writers!

Shellingbynight · 26/10/2024 16:53

I know I've said this before but the problem is not the writers. The producer and story editor decide the content of an episode, the writers have to write for that storyline. Last week an episode was written by Simon Crowther and Chris Fewtrell who have been on the show 20 years, they really know the characters and are the reason David gets brilliant lines about Gail. They probably despair when they are stuck with writing yet another scene with Swain in Roys Rolls.😖

Illjusthavethebreadsticks · 26/10/2024 17:46

They should definitely have kept Paul in as he was one or the more believable characters. I can think of plenty they could have got rid of, unless the actor chose to leave.

DeeDeesfabulouswardrobe · 26/10/2024 17:55

I’ve noticed this recently as well, she’s very full of herself these recent months, they have tried to make her a bit of a femme fatale and that just does not suit the Sarah-Lou character at all.

nildesparandum · 26/10/2024 19:57

Sarah has always been very smug.

Shellingbynight · 26/10/2024 22:10

I’m watching Classic (2005) and Sarah isn’t smug back then.

Freysimo · 27/10/2024 08:14

I'd get rid of Gemma, Chesney and quads, keeping Bernie and Joseph. Bobby can go as well, pointless character. Who would you like to see leave?

Clawdy · 27/10/2024 08:16

Number one to leave for me would be Mary, followed by Gemma.

suburburban · 27/10/2024 09:22

I also hate the way Sarah never seems to have anything to do. No school run, cleaning g or appointments, food shopping etc, time to go round to the Platts house and sit around being a pain

I know it would be dull and it doesn't fit the plot but come on

HaddyAbrams · 27/10/2024 09:24

The way he was having a go at his Dad for helping Toyah. Wow.

He's blaming Toyah for his Dad's affair. He lost his Mum, now he's lost his step Mum. I think his reaction is understandable. Misplaced maybe, but understandable.

Clawdy · 27/10/2024 09:56

Yes, Sam's reaction was only to be expected, he sees Leanne as his mum, who was cheated on by his dad and Toyah.

helgel · 27/10/2024 10:05

Aunty Toyah looks all set to become Sam's new stepmum. Has she even moved out yet?

Shellingbynight · 27/10/2024 10:37

Nick was helping Toyah move out on Wednesday, which is why Sam got annoyed that he wasn't around for their day trip.

@Freysimo - I agree with all those. Plus Mary. And everyone in the Joel plot except for Kit.

And this is one of the reasons Corrie is failing so spectacularly these days, in classic they do do all these normal everyday things plus casual interactions with other characters which makes it feel ‘real’ I was just saying to my DH as we are watching classic at the minute and the salon is packed with Candice doing Adam’s hair, Audrey doing Keith’s hair, it’s full of hustle and bustle, it today’s Corrie the most action we see is David sweeping up. I’m a regular Eastenders watcher and they get it right, it feels like a real market, a real pub, a real shop, Corrie now feels like a stage set, characters enter stage left on the spot marked x, say their lines and clear off.

WiddlinDiddlin · 27/10/2024 12:51

Corrie seems to have clung to the money-saving model forced by covid, fewer actors in every scene, much cheaper... and they got away with it because everyone had to, and Corrie fans will tolerate almost anything... so they've carried on.

But it is making things suffer as its far more noticeable when you don't see someone for weeks and weeks, pub always seems empty etc..

Mollypolly2610 · 27/10/2024 12:56

Where has Glenda gone ?
