"I'm just glad that Charlie refused to share anything with Polly, knowing it would get straight back to Eve."

I agree. I was not a huge Charlie fan but I am now not an Eve fan either!

I cannot think what is happening with Holly and Alex. Have they got their eye on some sort of future TV deal together?

Well I'm not sure he has a job now so maybe..

Italiangreyhound · 02/10/2024 00:07

Cheating, who is going to do it? You know, I cannot see any of this lot getting together with anyone else here. But maybe when the new couples come in, then we may see some switch-er-oos.

Italiangreyhound · 02/10/2024 00:29

Polly has really shown herself badly here.

Italiangreyhound · 02/10/2024 00:29

Keiran was lovely here.

Holly played a blinder with her super answer.

AndThereSheGoes · 02/10/2024 00:31

I think Charlie would have been Caspars type of girl if she wasn't batting for the other team. They seem to get along really well.

Enjoyed Polly telling everyone shut up and the group ignoring her. Shitlid though ducked the question and wound Polly up to get out of answering it. It's like a group of teenagers rather than functioning adults.

"I think Charlie would have been Caspars type of girl if she wasn't batting for the other team. They seem to get along really well." Yes, i thought that too!

"Enjoyed Polly telling everyone shut up and the group ignoring her."

Totally agree. I wonder if Polly senses her time in the 'experiment' will come to an end soon and wants to make her mark.

I cannot see that Polly and Adam, Casper and Emma, and Orson and Richelle, can last in this series much longer.

We need new couples with more of a chance of surviving.

Italiangreyhound · 02/10/2024 01:22

Bit silly of Paul to say that it wasn't resolved between 'Charlie' and 'Polly'.

Charlie and Polly are not a couple so they do not need to resolve anything, if they do not want to!

I loved the way Charlie said 'Thank you very much." It reminded me of the end of each episode of The Apprentice where people say 'Thank you for the opportunity Lord Sugar."

Italiangreyhound · 02/10/2024 01:23

It's so funny because I was totally behind Eve but now I feel I have seen a very different side to her, and a better side to Charlie.

RancidRuby · 02/10/2024 05:35

CheeseWisely · 01/10/2024 22:50

@RancidRuby My objection to it is the basic statement 'this shows how friendships can be damaging to a relationship', not 'this specific situation with this crowd of fame hungry drama llamas is not helping anything'

The comment alone taken out of context but stated by a 'relationship expert' is so dangerous.

He didn't say that as a stand-alone comment though, he did put it into context and very clearly said that the two friendship groups on display were examples of how some friendships can be damaging to a relationship and how some can be supportive.

That's the Script for MAFS tho isn't it, always switcherooing around the time the newest couples come or shortly after ?

From my slightly scatty memory anyway.

Waterboatlass · 02/10/2024 08:04

I've been really surprised all along that people have jumped on Charlie and supported Eve. Not at all convinced footage has been balanced but nothing has shown Charlie behaving terribly.

Getting carried away and being rather reactive, yes, but there have been a number of instances of Eve accusing her of shouting, screaming, being aggressive etc, disappearing when she simply hasn't been.

I do accept splicing of footage etc to create a bias may have taken place but I would need to see this "banging the door' to believe Eve's version.
Charlie handled Polly beautifully.

Adam has behaved badly in many ways but I don't see how Polly can still say he isn't being honest with a straight face. I don't really see what Adam could have said differently. He doesn't fancy her but didn't want to leave on the first week or so, so is giving it time.

Richelle is a shot of common sense amongst all the cheap prosecco. 'you don't need to do anything more, anything more would be rushed at this stage' instead of wanting all her insecurities fixed by a stranger

Anyone else seeing Shitlid/Beats from People Just Do Nothing?!

Yes! Totally Beats but without the irony.
But when someone said Barney Rubble I can see that too.

Yes, without fail. Apart from last year's MAFS! We got all the way through and nothing and there was that whole thing with Jonno and Kellie which was apparently completely edited to make them look awful

Waterboatlass · 02/10/2024 08:08

Ellie* not Kellie

I think Eve and Charlie are as bad as each other. Eve deliberately apologised and made up before the dinner party because she wants to appear a certain way in front of the group. She should have told Polly to stay out of it but she seems completely unable to articulate what she wants. She is definitely doing the push-pull regime but I don’t know if she’s inherently cruel or evil.

Charlie, I still don’t trust her and I don’t think we are seeing the full scope of what has happened or how she behaves. I don’t think she’s as much of a victim as people are claiming. She’s been on a terrible reality TV programme before and is potentially more savvy on how to come across in front of cameras. I may be a complete cynic but something about her just doesn’t sit right with me.

All-in-all, they’re not meant for each other and probably both need to see a counsellor

MiddleClassProblem · 02/10/2024 09:22

I think for me the telling thing was Eve told the girls all about Charlie but said nothing about the task they were given and her not taking part.

For me, the telling thing was the way she quite happily let Polly attack Charlie, pretended to be all supportive to Charlie when she was naturally upset, then came back out and thanked Polly for going at Charlie, hugged her and then grinned from ear to ear.

Doubleraspberry · 02/10/2024 09:42

The couples set up of this show means people end up picking one of each as the ‘good’ one. There are several couples which seem to contain two flawed/awful/scary (delete as appropriate) people. We can think both of them are crap!

Yumyi · 02/10/2024 09:45

Agree browneyes77
I find it really difficult to watch their conversations. It seems like Charlie genuinely wants to reach out and resolve everything. Has apologised over and over. But eve just accuses her of lying every time she says anything.

the only thing I wondered was if we havent been shown something really important that happened in the honeymoon. Neither of them have ever spoken specifically about what it was that happened (other than Charlie banged on eves door) so we are just left to guess. But now from seeing how eve behaved at the dinner, I would have to not trust her any of her version of events as she seems very manipulative

I don't understand why no one is saying what Charlie is meant to have done though? Eve keeps fucking off and leaving her, she seems to run whenever Charlie has any kind of emotion, which is a bit odd!

If my partner kept running off I'd call them out on it too, and that's not bullying or controlling them. If Polly and Eve had more on Charlie that was actual substantial evidence I feel we would have heard it by now surely?

Yumyi · 02/10/2024 11:07

Unless they (polly and eve) have discussed what she has supposedly done and it’s been edited out for some reason?

I do feel Charlie is genuine though.

Yeah I get what you mean, there should be clear examples. I don’t know what it is with Charlie, I can’t put my finger on it. I could be completely wrong and I’d be happy to admit that if more comes out about Eve and her behaviour. I am definitely not sticking up for Eve either, she’s a total knob.

Doubleraspberry · 02/10/2024 11:24

Hopefully not a spoiler as I saw it on social media but Polly has said that Eve was with her and ShitLid most of the time, so would have heard a lot, off camera.

PaininthePreferbial · 02/10/2024 11:37

I think Eve was very careful in her choice of Polly to be her flying monkey. She wasn't going to choose someone who would try and see both sides or have a bit of a think about her actions before going in to take Charlie down.
