Yeah I get what you mean, there should be clear examples. I don’t know what it is with Charlie, I can’t put my finger on it. I could be completely wrong and I’d be happy to admit that if more comes out about Eve and her behaviour. I am definitely not sticking up for Eve either, she’s a total knob.

I feel the same. I don't like either of them and don't think either of them should have ever made it through to the show. From what we've been shown I keep thinking something major must have happened on the honeymoon and it seems from what Charlie said last night, yes, it did, she was at fault and has apologised multiple times. Eve clearly won't draw a line under it, won't move forward and has bitched to Polly, who has gone out to bat for her 'friend' who she hardly knows. Now whether she wanted to maul all the fine detail apart, or just get on Charlie's case, we didn't see, because Charlie wouldn't discuss it all with her, not that she has to, but if she had, perhaps Polly and the viewers, may have had a more balanced picture.

Charlie seemed rational enough talking to Caspar, but I was left wondering if she is quick to apologise, but doesn't actually change the behaviour, just keeps repeating it and so the two women are in a circular argument all the time. I have seen more about this on Instagram, not sure if it's been posted here or not, so I won't discuss in case anyone thinks it's a spoiler.

It's extremely unpleasant to watch.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 02/10/2024 13:00

A poster way back said Eve was a typical 'service user from Belfast.' what does that mean please? Sorry I meant to quote when I read it and it's moved on too far now!

Eve reminds me of that actress on Celeb BB who accused the male actor of punching her when he did nothing of the sort so I'm really reluctant to believe the honeymoon story of Charlie kicking the door and screaming at her. Shame it wasn't filmed!!

I noticed that bit too....about the honeymoon and Charlie seemed overly apologetic about something. It's weird that we don't know what it is but it is more than a bit of bickering. Charlie keeps saying they've moved on/drawn a line but that's not how it works.

I mean, if something physical did happen then the producers need to step in.

I feel that as these series (both UK and Oz ones) go on, the more is being edited out or in to manipulate viewers.

Waterboatlass · 02/10/2024 13:22

That app said re Charlie, I don't like how Eve's appearance is used to build the narrative about her as being brooding or intimidating, lots of shots of her short hair at the back and carefully cherry picked scowling expressions. I believe she's more or less caused whatever has happened at the dinner party, but I don't agree with the camera work. It feels quite off to focus that on a non traditionally feminine lesbian woman (re her hair especially)

Yumyi · 02/10/2024 13:22

I think eve said in last nights episode it was emotional and verbal abuse by Charlie. So she isn’t saying anything physical happened

Waterboatlass · 02/10/2024 13:37

Surely they'd have pulled the plug if it had got physical

CabraCadabra · 02/10/2024 15:39

Just caught up on last nights and polly has got right down in my estimations! Who does she think she is?

I've stuck up for Eve before but I'm not so sure now. The clip from tonight Charlie looks like she's physically shaking.

Yes, they chucked Jay's husband and therefore her out after that.

martinisforeveryone · 02/10/2024 16:15

I don't think it's any kind of a spoiler to say that Caspar's reply to someone criticising him via social media, said that there is a lot of pressure, by which he means, pressure to stay. Would Charlie and Eve be different people in another pairing, or is one, or both, a pretty awful person? It's a horrible situation for sure and I think the programme makers have made it ambiguous. Polly's going to feel so deceived if and when it all comes out in the open, although she should've been brighter to interfere and certainly when she'd only heard one side of the story.

I have more to say, but that's from social media rather than what's been aired on TV, so I'll keep a lid on it for now.

I find Kristina intensely irritating. All that gurning and shrieking and saying each word like it’s got no relation to the next one. I like Kieran though

@martinisforeveryone there is a spoiler thread that's deathly quiet, if you have some interesting gossip 😆 .

LikeWhoUsesTypewritersAnyway · 02/10/2024 17:34

Caught up now! Polly is absolutely vile. Who the fuck does she think she is telling everyone to shut up at her command?! Shock (Like she did at the dinner party?!)

I'd have told her to go fuck herself if I'd been at the table and she has shushed me! Arrogant horrible bint. Unattractive in every way. I am starting to feel sorry for Adam now. He is hugely unappealing, but she is no better. Awful woman!

Still feel for Emma with Caspar keeping her in the friend zone.

Charlie and Eve are toxic together.

kenyaswhiterefrigerator · 02/10/2024 17:38

I think Polly just wants as much screen time as possible. She wanted everyone to be quiet at the dinner so she could have a 'moment' and the row was getting lost in other people's chatter.

Also why she got involved in the whole Charlie/Eve situation. There's nothing going on in her relationship and it's looking short lived so she wants screen time

Oh no I missed that his job is fixing engines!! When she came out in the sparkly leotard I thought they had a whole act planned!

Lavenderfields21 · 02/10/2024 17:50

Eve is conflict avoidant in the extreme, so she's trying to keep Polly sweet and keep Charlie sweet, whilst not actually participating in the experiment.

Waterboatlass · 02/10/2024 17:53

Meh, Polly's shushing could have just been ADHD overwhelm. Prob embarrassment from her actions re Charlie added to I think there was a moment with Adam saying 'stop bugging me' about something, then the questions themselves so she would have felt humiliation and rejection (she'd feel a lot less of it if she just took him at his word). She obviously though she'd be a strong female Lauren or Lucinda from MAFSAU character and has backed the wrong horse more than once

dapsnotplimsolls · 02/10/2024 18:16

Lucinda would have been ace with Eve and Charlie.

downthebackofthesettee · 02/10/2024 18:46

Whoever put the pudding basin on Adam's head to cut his hair, put it on crooked

Waterboatlass · 02/10/2024 08:08

Yes, without fail. Apart from last year's MAFS! We got all the way through and nothing and there was that whole thing with Jonno and Kellie which was apparently completely edited to make them look awful

Nah, not having that. Jonno & Ellie were grade A arseholes.

She might come across as being conflict avoidant herself but she manipulated Polly into having a go at Charlie so she obviously enjoys it on some level.

I don't see her trying to keep Charlie sweet at all, I see her fucking with her head and trying to make herself out to be her victim.

I've just remembered who he reminds me of - the Ford Kiernan character who works in the electrical shop in Chewin the Fat😅
