Anyone watching?

DH & I watched the first two episodes tonight - loved it!
Kathryn Hahn is amazing.
Loved the start - based on the Danish series Wanda/Vision! Grin

Ooooooo are the last two episodes up? I am loving this so good and cracking telly for this time of year.

Frostytree · 31/10/2024 16:57

Yes, last two episodes are out. Well worth a watch.

APurpleSquirrel · 31/10/2024 23:11

Really enjoyed the last two episodes. Got the song stuck in my head.
Very sad about Nicky. Kathryn Hahn is excellent.
Now to find Tommy!

Loved it so much! K H is amazing!

Sweetaschocolate · 01/11/2024 10:03

KH is amazing isn't she, loved this series and marvel definitely needed it right now.
Can not wait to see how they use Agatha in upcoming projects also death as well.
Now to wait for daredevil (one of my favs).

burnoutbabe · 01/11/2024 19:29

I think I loved episode 7 and 8 more than 9.

But overall a great show nice and dark!

HotCrossBunplease · 02/11/2024 09:16

Can anyone explain why there was a romantic element to Agatha and Rio’s relationship? When was that supposed to have happened?

And who was Nicky’s father?

burnoutbabe · 02/11/2024 09:21

One assumes they fancied each other?

Unclear if she conceived nick naturally but she says she created him all on her own - no magic! (She says conjuring or incantation I think) So I assume she meant via sex with a man.

They were partners, this is referred to several times and at one point its mentioned that Agatha’s ex is death.

Nicky’s other parent is Rio, thats why he had to be sustained by death as the offspring of death cannot be exhanged for just one life to keep balance, he also says “my mother needs me home” when he went with Rio Agatha was only ever mama.

The dandelion also suggests this, dandelions produce asexually, a man isn’t needed, in history if you look at witch lore etc it is often said that witches could choose to reproduce and didn’t need a man to do so.

OK, no need to be snippy! “Embodying Death” isn’t the most fanciable of qualities, and the suggestion was an actual relationship not just a sexual chemistry.

Wow. Thank you. Is this all back story that you know from the novels, or was I asleep when they explained it?!

burnoutbabe · 02/11/2024 09:43

Yes fancying each other therefore became partners?

Agatha is an evil witch, that's maybe why she fancies death.

I didn't get that nicks other parent was rio at all. Either via magic or just random man. (Though it would be magic if it was rio to be fair)

It was all in the last two episodes, don’t want to explain too much for people who haven’t watched it yet

Absolutely loved it. Kathryn Hahn was amazing.

Hmm. I just watched them both last night and didn’t pick up most of that detail. Maybe I should start putting the subtitles on!

burnoutbabe · 02/11/2024 11:05

It wasn't in the last 2 episodes. It's theories discussed in various forums but the tv show didn't make it explicit.

Was Agatha killing witches to appease death? Or as she wanted them to attack her to give her power to use? I think the second as that's what was showed -she goaded then to attack her. If she had a deal with death to provide bodies is was never shown that death came each time to collect -we were just shown Agatha killing them -and looking happy.

Don't think all that was clear from the last two episodes! Unless I'm a right thicko and missed it all...

Just disappointed that we never found the other twin. Surely a second series coming?

Ha ha yes! Watched the final 2 episodes last night and Witches Road is on a loop in my head!
Brilliant though - can't wait for Season 2!

Frostytree · 02/11/2024 12:22

The witches road is on my Spotify playlist 🧙.
They find Tommy in the comics so fingers crossed 🤞🏻
This has been my favourite Marvel tv series.

APurpleSquirrel · 03/11/2024 11:28

They have to find Tommy as he is part of the Young Avengers, which Wiccan/Billy is too. But whether they do another series to explore that or whether it's part of another series (Vision?) or a film is unclear.

I've not read the comics but Nicky's father is never revealed there either I don't think. But in the comics Nicholas Scratch is a character who works with & against Agatha at different points.

I think the bargain she made with Rio/Death was that she knew her child had to die but due to their relationship Rio could only give Agatha 'time' with Nicky - but how much wasn't specified. So Rio could either take the child at birth or give them time together, but either way she would collect the child.

Do I need to have seen anything other than Wandavision to be able to enjoy and understand Agatha All Along?

It's a trilogy of series. Agatha is essentially series 2 of Wandavision. A third series (based around Vision) will be arriving in 2026.

noblegiraffe · 03/11/2024 11:57

I got the impression that killing the witches was trading for Nicky's extended life. Because the night he said he didn't want to kill the witches is the night he died.

I wasn't even going to bother watching this as the concept of a spin-off show based on a catchy song from a series released years ago did not appeal, but actually it was really good. Far better than I expected given how atrocious Echo was.

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 03/11/2024 20:03

Loved loved this. Liked how the 'bigish battle' wasn't in the last episode and there was still another to come which tied everything together and wasn't some cgi fest or whatever it tends to be.
The reveal the road was all Billy was clever as well and so many clues throughout. And how the song was just their song..until it got turned into something to lure.

Definitely makes up for what marvel have been lacking recently.

OhBeAFineGuyKissMe · 04/12/2024 18:58

Just caught up on this and loved it.

Did Agatha ever go on the Witches road previously or was that all myth? As it wasn’t real until Billy made it real?
