Alex never actually said he didn’t want kids or anything. He said he wasn’t a dad himself so didn’t have those fatherly instinct's, but with a strong foundation, he essentially couldn’t see it being a major issue.

I think most folk who don’t have kids, would find it quite a big jump to take on someone’s else’s kids. Doesn’t mean they wouldn’t, it’s just a big adjustment for them.
