@Missanimosity yes I thought they were travellers too, which is probably why I've made the association with the Fury's.

Why do these people always whine that the brides (usually) are not "what they expected" Get yerself a catalogue and order one online mate. Better still, a blow up doll. They bloody well know the show is a lucky dip not a made to order scenario. Reminds me of Morag back in the day and Luke 'not being what she orrrrrderrrrred'.

Don't you have to get veneers replaced every so often? And what if one falls out when you're on holiday and you're left with a shaven tooth? And doesn't it damage the teeth structurally?

Of course it does, who replaces naturally healthy teeth for kinder egg teeth is a complete idiot. I wanted a tooth out from the back as it was hurting me, dentist refused to take out perfectly healthy tooth and worked on the source if the pain instead which i thing was a gum infection. Anyways my ideea is don't all medical professionals take an oath to not harm? Or the surgery plastic ones are exempted?

BrightLady · 20/09/2024 11:46

I don't like for Adam is looking at Polly during the vows - he looks pissed off and aggressive. He's horrible

Pantaloons99 · 20/09/2024 11:47

Adam's going to be sweating over the other brides - if he makes it that far

Season 4 GIF by The Simpsons

Yes! That's why it's literally mad to have them done.

I think this is the legacy of all that US taunting about "British teeth" BC as a rule ppl in Britain didn't generally opt to put braces on just cuz yer fricking teeth were a Bit Wonky and we weren't as terrifyingly self conscious as Americans over looks

BrightLady · 20/09/2024 11:47

I've wondered about that path too @Missanimosity

BrightLady · 20/09/2024 11:47

Oath, sorry!

BrightLady · 20/09/2024 11:50

I have snaggleteeth (clean and healthy but snaggly) and have in the past drunkenly googled veneers but have just decided to embrace it for all the reasons stated below! I'm sure if you do get them done you can make it look natural, don't know why they choose the obviously fake look.

I remember that episode of the Simpsons. At the time, I had an American friend over (I think it was 1997) She made the comment about why do all British people have poor teeth (she had veneers) and I just said "why do most American's choose to cover theirs with veneers?" (No answer)

It's just some sort of screwed up perception of "good" and "bad"

These people are going to be well and truly fucked when the Natural Look comes back in again.

Catlord · 20/09/2024 12:30

I was interested whether Sasha and fam had Traveller roots and if so which group of Travellers. They have an interesting set of of values, traditions and superstitions that might make sense. It would be nice to hear more about that part of her culture if that is the case

What I don't get is veneers' popularity when you consider what they are Vs braces and whitening which are so much less invasive. My close friend has a crown (not for cosmetic reasons) which i suppose is v similar and the buggering thing seems to always fell out at the wrong time. He's said if it was at the back he'd have the whole thing removed. a whole mouthful of those would be such a pain.

usernother · 20/09/2024 12:42

@JudgieJudie Surely everyone is celibate between relationships.??

No, lots of people have sex when not in relationships. Especially nowadays when it seems to be the norm to be dating someone, having sex, but you're not 'official' or he hasn't asked you to be his girlfriend so you're not in a relationship. This means you are both free to have sex with other people. Something like that anyway, I lose track tbh.

Alfie didnt have a personality in my opinion, he was practically salivating waiting to tell his bestie that the new man said she wasnt his type. He could've had some tact. Was no different to what Lacey's friends did yesterday regarding the 'wow' towards the twin sister. Typical gay bestie behaviour.

Interesting, and I'm inclined to agree- I did wince when he said "you're not his type" outright- he could have had more tact.

She is a lovely woman- well out of shitlid's league- she' more attractive, has a personality and is very articulate; he's thicker than mince and a dog's dinner to look at.

chickenlettuceunderbacon · 20/09/2024 12:55

For the record, I have a few veneers on my teeth. They're not glow in the dark white, bright white or huge. The colour is down to the choice of cement as the veneers themselves are actually transparent. Mine were done in the UK, I wonder if this is why? Also, my dentist would have refused either request anyway! Like me, he is all about as natural aesthetic as possible. The sign of really good work is that it is unnoticeable/doesn't draw attention.

I think Alfie did absolutely the right thing telling Polly what Adam said. I know I would want to know, more so as Polly was gushing about how much she fancied/liked Adam. Sometimes you have to be blunt and tell someone the truth.

@RainbowZebraWarrior Tyson Fury! That's his name. I get all those identikit tattooed muscly boxers confused!

Izzy24 · 20/09/2024 13:17

So far the grooms’ friends are nicer than any of the grooms.

I hate myself for watching this and the MAFS Aus is sooo much better.

But I probably won’t stop.

2Old2Tango · 20/09/2024 13:41

I too am late to the party as I've been catching up. I'm almost speechless as each episode the couples are worse than the week before!

The egos on some of these mediocre men is laughable. They think they are God's gift and expect models to be paired with. Adam's mates had it in the bag when they asked him if it was likely he'd find someone who loved him. Ore than he loved himself.

This week the scariest thing is a toss up between Adam's hair and too-bright-teeth and Sacha's parents, who look like some kind of genetic experiment gone wrong.

Daft thing is, when I watched the first episode with the hen and stag nights, I thought Kristina and Clownboy were going to be the most irritating, but they actually seem to be getting on ok and are behaving fairly normally.

Will be interesting to see if Charlie follows up on her threat to quit the experiment, or if she's in it for the publicity and dinner parties and will stay in. Will not be surprised if it's the latter.

TinselAngel · 20/09/2024 13:48

It's not fair that there's only 3 episodes a week. What am I supposed to do with the rest of my time?

murasaki · 20/09/2024 13:50

There are 4! Monday to Thursday.

Still. Least they could do would be to run it seven days a week.

RainbowZebraWarrior · 20/09/2024 14:06

@2Old2Tango Pissing myself at 'genetic experiment gone wrong' They are seriously bloody scary.

I think one of the first questions that is probably asked in auditions is "Do you have a best friend who absolutely cannot hold their own water?" Tick!

That said, I do believe in honesty. They are going to find out anyway plus the production team will be at the pals with a cattle prod till they spill the tea

TinselAngel · 20/09/2024 14:08

murasaki · 20/09/2024 13:50

Oh God I can't count.

Littleguggi · 20/09/2024 14:22

I have enjoyed reading these comments more than seeing the latest 2 couples!

Ross and Sasha have a chance I think, they seem kind and open to each other.

Adam and Polly are another car crash waiting to happen! They are both as deluded as each other, probably why they matched! She reckons they have a good vibe together, whereas he thinks he's god's gift.

Alfie has a good 6th sense, he's very on the ball whereas Polly is lost in a bubble, she needed to hear the trust from Alfie to be brought back down to earth!

Bluetrews25 · 20/09/2024 14:47

Anyone else wondering if some of the men have just watched too much andrew tate (deliberate lack of capital letters) and therefore think they are just IT and SHOULD have a size zero 18 year old virgin bride presented to them to shag until the poor girl's eyes fall out? Because they are The Man?
I'm hoping I've got the wrong impression.

retinolalcohol · 20/09/2024 14:52

Adam is thoroughly delusional if he thinks that he's somehow more attractive than Polly.

This is what confuses me about men, and it's particularly highlighted in this show - they can be overweight, balding, even downright funny looking and still be absolutely furious on not getting a supermodel.

It's the strangest thing.

chaosmaker · 20/09/2024 14:57

@chickenlettuceunderbacon Yes, it's very wrong to admire those men's egos. That is how they get to damage the world. Instead they need to get in a bin where they belong!
