My late father has 2 forms of dementia. It's an awful disease. I watched Doctors when it first started in 2000 on my days off work and later every day when I retired/could watch iplayer catch ups. The classic (earlier) episodes are on Channel 20 (U&US) weekday mornings. If you search for Doctors on freeview, it comes up with channel U. At the moment, they have series 3 to 6 inclusive and the character Mac (Christopher Timothy) was still in it. There used to be all the series. Perhaps your father would get some enjoyment from these old episodes. Mac was a good character which Christopher Timothy played superbly. While I loved seeing him in the Legacy episodes, I felt a bit bereft that they gave him Alzheimers. How insightful of your father to ask you to watch the Legacy episodes. Good luck to you both

Thank you for your kind and thoughtful post. I will let him know about the older episodes ..I'm sure he will enjoy those.

Best wishes to you.

Very occasionally Kirstie’s Australian accent skips out.
I think she’s in ITV “comedy” Piglets ( didn’t find it funny)

I haven't seen it - but I did think I saw a clip of her in that. I'm glad I wasn't seein things Grin

I have warmed to Kirsty over the past year, she has got a lot better (some of her scenes with Al after he was attacked, were really good) . It's usually scenes involving Al/Ian that bring out the best in some of the worst of them!

Allthehorsesintheworld · 06/09/2024 17:42

I like Kirstie, I don’t think she always gets the best scripts. And her wardrobe is extensive. I’m thinking all her clothes irl and on tv must be individually made, so a lot of unique design. Nothing, from pjs to coats would come off the peg would it?

Just catching up, thanks for the new thread.
My old mum (93) has mixed dementia, vascular and Alzheimer's. She was diagnosed at least 8 years ago (before my dad died) and had to move into a nursing home last year as it was too much for her living at home alone, despite our best efforts we couldn't be there 24/7.
She, too asks why her parents and brother haven't been in to visit 😞 But then she asks after my children, what a cruel condition. I'm dreading the thought of developing it myself.

Mac's acting was outstanding.

Sympathies to everyone affected by this cruel condition and their families.

Good afternoon- I've actually made it live.

Graham has been partner, and all he gets is a card? Grin

Awkward between Luca and Graham there.

Raahh · 09/09/2024 14:05

Of course she's over there Rob, even Jamal knows it's the only room in the hospital. D'uh.

Raahh · 09/09/2024 14:08

What is Jacob up to? Oh it's not his appointment. He's not Jacob.

Raahh · 09/09/2024 14:11

oops.

Gotcha.

MadisonAvenue · 09/09/2024 14:11

I’m watching a few minutes behind so I’m only just at fake Jake and the prescription.

Is he asking if he is gay?

Raahh · 09/09/2024 14:12

'A queer'

Ok Graham. Hmm

MadisonAvenue · 09/09/2024 14:13

Couldn’t he have just said he was picking up a prescription for his friend?

Ruhma likes playing at Cops Grin

Couldn’t he have just said he was picking up a prescription for his friend?

Exactly- I pick up the prescriptions for everyone it feels like.

And it's not like he's not related to him.

Raahh · 09/09/2024 14:16

Bloody Graham. Moved Kirsty's steps!!

Allthehorsesintheworld · 09/09/2024 14:17

Ffs who takes a child to see his mum in hospital ( in an itu to boot) without preparing him first & then leaves the child gazing at his unconscious mother? I don’t think Rob should be in charge of a rabbit, never mind a distressed child.

JoanChitty · 09/09/2024 14:18

I’m not sure about this Graham

Raahh · 09/09/2024 14:19

To be fair to Rob, I don't think he expected the boy's mother ro be in the first room they came across- with the door wide open to the corridor so he could walk right inGrin!

Raahh · 09/09/2024 14:21

JoanChitty · 09/09/2024 14:18

I’m not sure about this Graham

Me neither- he seemed ok to start with, now he's becoing sexist, ableist and homophobic.

Raahh · 09/09/2024 14:22

Well, at least they will both meet at St Phils.

JoanChitty · 09/09/2024 14:24

Well done Kirsty

Raahh · 09/09/2024 14:24

Grrrr.

As a short person, I can say Graham has overstepped the mark too often. And the whole 'small dog syndrome' thing is boring.

Glad Bear has her back.

lazarusb · 09/09/2024 14:28

Apologies, place marking as work is unexpectedly busy! Sounds like Graham isn't the answer to their prayers then. Will a discrimination lawsuit against be the end of The Mill..?
