Is anyone else thinking that Stephen has already found his perfect match in his ex Daniel and they should give it another go?

Is Daniel the most recent ex or the one before that? I never used to watch Gogglebox. I agree they seem like a good match. Stephen does seem to get his date’s backs up doesn’t he? The last one was so awkward. I think he can be too direct even when he’s not being overly crude.

Based on what I’ve seen of Ella on MAFS, it’s like she picked all of the worst qualities in the worst types of women and modelled her new female persona off of those tropes.

Daniel is his most recent ex. His husband. Chris was the previous ex he did Gogglebox with. There was an article after they split whereby Stephen said he watched some of the old Gogglebox episodes back and realised how vile he was to Chris.

Daniel and Stephen have both said that they just came to the end of the road with their relationship. They are still living together while they sort their house etc. It was reported in the press that early when they split, Stephen was dragging people back to have sex with. I'd say they might get on well as perhaps they have realised they are better as friends (there's also a vested interested in them remaining amicable as they are business partners and own two hair salons)

I'm afraid that 'banter' and 'directness' is just downright bloody rudeness and nastiness. It's like people who say they 'call a spade a spade' They rarely change.

I think Ella’s lisp is due to her veneers. I’ve seen this quite a bit before.

I think you’re right that Stephen is plain rude & I also think he didn’t take kindly to his date last night not saying he thought he was handsome when he saw his photo. But I’m not sure what he expects really, I wouldn’t ask the question in the first place!

Whilst I agree that Stephen is incredibly rude, and overly sexual, I do wonder why he keeps being paired up with much younger men.

I know he 'chose' the 22 year old himself, but he could only chose from the men who were at the masked ball. So (IMO) there shouldn't have been 22 years olds there. AFAIK he's the only gay man on the show so it's not like he could potentially have been picked by anyone else.

Yes this seems to be an issue whenever they have more ‘mature’ celebrities. They never seem to have many singles that are in their 40’s & over. And then the experts are annoying because they criticise the celebrities for judging in terms of age but surely they must agree that a 20 year old & 50 year old have little in common?!

Chris is so infuriating! There must be a normal / vulnerable human underneath all of the joking and ridiculousness somewhere surely? I know he knows why he does it (insecurities/ fear of rejection etc) but he still doesn't seem to be able to engage any modicum of normal conversation

I would usually be soaking up this genuinely trash tv but I'm afraid the inclusion of Ella made me immediately out. Such a damaged person, who constantly shrieks about the mythical vagina..no thanks...totally ruined mafs for me and I just knew we'd see them turn up on this. Disappointingly predictable. Meh.

Chris has a superior attitude towards all of the women he's dated except the one he didn't dare make a play for at the mixer. Just stretching out his 15 mins in whatever fashion necessary. He's making himself look increasingly unpleasant. It's annoying and affected. He makes a deliberate show of behaving oddly, it is queried, he makes a show of deflecting it. He's been doing this silly love island adjacent work too long at his age and needs a proper angle from what I can see. Making money is one thing, purpose is important too.

I feel like Chris needs to be set up with someone that’s a bit more quirky for a change. Maybe someone a bit older? I agree his inability to have any serious chat is infuriating!

I can't decide if Chris is incapable of not asking a stream of dumb ass questions ("have you ever put a chocolate bar up your arse?") Or if he actually really does think it's clever.

I know a lot of folk talk like this now (I used to do online dating and would constantly be asked my favourite sexual position!?) I think some areshole men mainly people think it makes them sound edgy. t's not that long ago that behaviour like this would have been seen as totally unacceptable. It's very telling of why some folk are going round and round in circles on the dating scene.

Once upon a time, people would have made a massive effort on a date. Nowadays they are making a living by schlepping from one half arsed date to the next and being filmed and paid for it. I think a lot of the reality types have lost their purpose in life.

I think this too. I think the sexual side of the relationship has dried up (just a guess) and this is why he’s so overly sexual with all the dates (cringe) but he doesn’t realise that actually a deeper connection and the sort of love he has with his ex is more important than all that. You can see it in the way they speak to each other.

Yes I read somewhere that she is already seeing someone (maybe they met after she agreed to the show) and that he's hanging around near or on set. It would explain why she's not interested in any of them. I also read (unfounded) that they find a way to work him into the show somehow. Not sure if that's true obviously
