Any news yet on when the new series is due to start?
can we expect the same presenting/ judging line up as last year?
Do we think the Hollywood handshake will return?
And please god no tacky theme weeks

I'm another who adores Nelly. To whoever mentioned her buns comment being sleazy earlier - they all joke constantly about flipping buns!! Not just her randomly coming out with it.

Sourisblanche · 13/10/2024 13:23

Finally caught up today as haven’t been able to watch live.

I’ve warmed to all the bakers, even Christiaan, who we (Brit/Dutch family) think is the least Dutch-sounding Dutch person we’ve ever known! 😅 He has reminded me to make speculass cookies soon though, perfect for this time of year.

Some impressive bread this week, especially love that Nelly proved (no pun intended) herself because I don’t think the judges were taking her seriously in the first couple of episodes. Looking forward to caramel week.

mixedpeel · 15/10/2024 15:30

With the exception of most of what John produced, I would have happily tucked into almost everything that was baked in bread week, from the signature through to the technical and on to the showstopper. While I would’ve gone for Nelly’s poppy seed filled bun first, I do think Dylan deserved star baker overall. For once, coming bottom of the technical did not actually indicate a disaster, they were all fairly close. And his signature and showstopper were a good combination of creative and top quality.

Fab episode, and looking forward to the next one. Agree that it is a really appealing bunch of contestants this year, including Sumayah by the way. Nothing wrong with her speech or mannerisms in my view, and sad to see her criticised here.

Oh good. I'd forgotten it was on this evening and it will just hit the spot as I'm knackered from my shift at the food bank. Hip hip hurrah!

I had a caramel brownie some months ago and I'm still occasionally thinking about it. It was one of the loveliest things I've ever eaten.

GetSetFake · 15/10/2024 18:02

Knackered here and looking forward to it.

Not massively excited by caramel week as a concept but happy to be pleasantly surprised!

RudolphsDashing · 15/10/2024 19:29

I am so ready for caramel week, it's one of those basic things that is so easy to go wrong!

BarbiesBuns · 15/10/2024 20:04

Mmmmmm caramel....

CrushingOnRubies · 15/10/2024 20:04

Evening all

I love caramel not a fan of the salted version though

The meringue/ pavlova advert at the start annoyed me. You should let the meringue cool in the oven as the oven cools

I think that was the point. He was too impatient, took it out, it wasn't right, but it will taste good anyway. Isn't that how the ads have worked this series?

Hedjwitch · 15/10/2024 20:06

Checking in. Harry Enfield bloke gets on my nerves..( and ears)

PrincessScarlett · 15/10/2024 20:06

Love Andy... "Well I think it was wonka they were calling me" 🤣

CatDogGuineaPig · 15/10/2024 20:08

Georgie's marathon/snickers look absolutely delicious, Sumayah is so clever - actually they all look lovely - I just love caramel. Hungry now!!

Oh I see! In that case that’s infuriating. Bake is better if the recipe wasn’t followed

PrincessScarlett · 15/10/2024 20:08

Dylan is wearing a hat as well.

CrushingOnRubies · 15/10/2024 20:09

Dylan rocking the renaissance artist look

CatDogGuineaPig · 15/10/2024 20:10

I like Dylan and obviously he's beautiful - but he does look a tiny bit like he's in fancy dress today

Hedjwitch · 15/10/2024 20:14

Aww,helping each other out.

Pancakeflipper · 15/10/2024 20:16

Ahhhh this is much needed tonight.
Biscuits and kindness.

Even Andy Baseball hat is growing on me.

jay55 · 15/10/2024 20:22

Stroopwaffles without a hot drink would be tough going for me. Look smashing though

Love all the creations but me teeth are aching at the prospect of trying all of them.

Pancakeflipper · 15/10/2024 20:25
