Any news yet on when the new series is due to start?
can we expect the same presenting/ judging line up as last year?
Do we think the Hollywood handshake will return?
And please god no tacky theme weeks

Have we ever had a handshake on a showstopper?

Very rarely but I think it has happened before.

I don’t recall one…

Hazel to go

littlbrowndog · 01/10/2024 21:26

Yeah hazel to go. Awful all the way through

CrushingOnRubies · 01/10/2024 21:26

Right decision in both counts

But Christian's showstopper was fabulous

Xmasmusings · 01/10/2024 21:26

50% right.

I'm pretty sure the Lion Bread got one...

Xmasmusings · 01/10/2024 21:27

I don't remember a handshake on the showstopper either. I enjoyed watching with you. See you next week!

periodiclabel · 01/10/2024 21:28

I don’t remember enjoying a series this much in ages

littlbrowndog · 01/10/2024 21:28

Next week 🍸🍸🐎🐎

GetSetFake · 01/10/2024 21:28

So that's the two over 60 bakers out in one week. They really need to give a stronger older baker a chance. They go for quirky personalities and they very rarely get further than half way.

HighPrecisionGhosts · 01/10/2024 21:28

Bread week. The one where Paul goes all preachy and Pru wishes there was alcoholic bread.

TossedSaladandSE · 01/10/2024 21:28

What great contestants I love them all

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 01/10/2024 21:29

You'd need danger money to apply for the next series! I in 4 chance of falling over, based on today's episode.

Enjoying this series. Nelly is a character!

Nancy did very well. Did she win? Can't remember now.

Yes, Nancy won and Jane was a finalist, but no serious contenders since then, I think.

The show is all about the characters as well as the baking

It would never have lasted this long otherwise

ChessieFL · 01/10/2024 21:32

According to this there have been 4 HH’s for a showstopper, but it doesn’t say who got them all. One was Josh for biscuit illusion (don’t remember that!)

Was it really necessary to have a support line for the issues raised 🤷🏻‍♂️

TossedSaladandSE · 01/10/2024 21:34

Plus Hazel and Jeff were a bit rubbish

I'm surprised they got on the show

Probably was due to their age to keep some viewers happy

BestIsWest · 01/10/2024 21:34

Yes.

It's triggering for many people

If you've ever known anyone who had multiple miscarriages, you probably wouldn't ask that question. You would not be expecting that content on a baking show and it might be the one time you ready to reach out for help so fair enough in my view.

whatdoidonowffs · 01/10/2024 21:35

I must have missed something then

I take it back I missed that
