Anyone catch it last nite? Look like the dragons underestimated 'Destination London' - I hear Hamleys sold out in a day and it outsold monopoly in many hight street stores!

nasa · 26/01/2005 17:11

I know I thought I had seen that woman in the papers but couldn't remember why.
I can't believe Simon Woodruffe went for the truffle idea

lowcalCOD · 26/01/2005 17:26

I didn't watch the programme but did buy Destination London from Hamleys before Christmas and it's a good game. It doesn't take as long as Monopoly and my 5 year old managed with only a bit of help.

no, what was the story?

LIZS · 02/02/2005 15:54

Couldn't believe her mark ups though ! Loved the suggestion that Duncan had only backed her to get access to catwalk shows ! Is it me or were the guys with the golf club carrier and the other guy with the plant watering device barking - do they need the money or not !

Gwenick · 02/02/2005 15:58

I saw last night.

I did think the plant watering device guys was MAD - but the golf one I could undestand - if he'd have accepted that offer they would only have owned 48% of the business themselves - which is an awful lot to 'buy back' if they ever want to own the whole company themselves.

I was really chuffed for that women with the jewelry - it was definitely the £30,000 of sales from one promotion that caught the Dragons attention - I think if she didn't have that behind her then she wouldn't have got the money.

Anyone remember the Umbrolly from episode 1? Well apparently he's had his investment withdrawn by Peter Jones. So I hear.....

Gwenick · 04/02/2005 16:26

foolish man if that's true (Peter Jones that is)

seems he's doing well

lowcalCOD · 04/02/2005 16:26

Not sure why, just heard it from a very reliable source.
