Me and Dh are running out of things to watch from this time. A

We have watched so far:

Fat friends - loved, probably more than the first time we watched it, when it came out.

The Booze Cruise 1, 2 and 3 - love these so much and gutted they didn't make more. Watched and loved them when they first came out.

Cutting It - watching just now and on series 3. Absolutely batshit crazy. We watched this first time around but couldn't mind anything about it.

Any other programs we should watch along the same lines?

Making out if anyone remembers that.

I used to love it

The Riff Raff Element is my contribution

Violetparis · 10/08/2024 19:04

Life On Mars and Our Friends In The North.
Rewatched them both recently and loved them as much as the first time.

Unfortunately it isn't. ☹️ only in the US not the UK unfortunately. I got tricked by that googling before!

letmeeatinpeace · 10/08/2024 19:39

Sex In The City
Curb Your Enthusiasm
Seinfeld
Always Sunny In Philadelphia (I prefer the earlier seasons)
The Office (both the UK and US versions are great)
Pulling
Lost
Southpark

Tallisker · 10/08/2024 19:40

Oh bum. Bloomin google, why the buggery bollocks does it give me US results all the time when I'm in the UK?

Lzzyisgod · 10/08/2024 19:44

Murder One!

I remember being hooked on the 1st series of this - possibly the 1st series I'd ever watched that was about 21 episodes long.

Would love to rematch it as I can't remember the outcome of the trial 🤣

GogAndMagog · 10/08/2024 19:56

I remember enjoying Life Begins with Caroline Quentin.

Bluebellsinthewind · 10/08/2024 20:08

I had totally forgotten about Hustle. We used to love watching it when first on.

Life begins was really good also.

Green wing, loved it and have watched it again a few times

You might enjoy "Piglets" currently being shown on ITV on Saturday nights.,Same writer, Mark Heap, shares the weirdness.

I’d love to watch Northern Exposure again but it’s only on payment.

Absolutely this ☝

Moveoverdarlin · 10/08/2024 23:54

Clocking Off I watched recently and loved it, it’s very early noughties, but god it looks dated. The cars the phones. Lots of actors in it who have gone on to better things.

At Home with the Braithwaites is another fantastic one as is The Lakes.

Much more recent which I loved was Last Tango in Halifax, written by same person as Braithwaites.

Bodies on BBC iPlayer. I have just watched this for the first time, it’s honestly one of the best dramas I’ve ever seen despite it being 20 years old, it’s written by Jed Mercurio who also wrote Line of Duty and Bodyguard and stars Max Beesley as Dr Rob Lake who takes on the post of registrar in obstetrics and gynaecology who unearths the negligent practice of the senior obstetrician Roger Hurley, it has a great cast, Keith Allen also stars as a brilliant but utterly awful human being of a consultant! If you are due to give birth I would skip it though it will put you off for life! Can’t recommend it enough.

I rewatched that a few years ago. Plus season 2 which was another trial/lawyer?.

I fancy another watch!

Ally mcbeale currently not on any uk service but it was on prime a few years ago as I thought I'd rewatch it and never did

VanillaImpulse · 11/08/2024 18:21

I love this thread! I'm definitely going to watch some of these. Loved Cutting It, The Lakes and Footballers Wives first time round.

Currently loving 80s brookside on STV player. Only 5 episodes a week released though on a Wednesday.

westisbest1982 · 11/08/2024 18:44

A TV film from 2001 called Hot Money, stars Caroline Quentin as a downtrodden cleaner at the Bank of England who comes up with a plan to steal cash at the bank. It’s on YouTube.

CatherineCawoodsbestie · 14/08/2024 15:15

Dirtwater Dynasty - Australian saga with Sam Neill

Seaford or Seaforth with Linus Roache and Lia ( can’t remember surname)

Totally fluffy series called Sunburn about holiday reps

The Leaving of Liverpool

Cracker

Prime Suspect

Miss Marple and Poirot

Early Casualty

Men Behaving Badly and Ab Fab have probably aged badly!

Agree with this, I saw it this year and was blown away.

Violetparis · 14/08/2024 15:19

I've been watching Silk with Maxine Peake after seeing it recommended on here. Loving it, don't know how I missed it first time round.

CatherineCawoodsbestie · 14/08/2024 15:20

Oh, oh , and Mistresses. I think Patrick Baladi was in both that and Bodies. Also in Stella which is noughties not nineties but totally awesome.
