7yo Ds is completely obsessed with horrible histories and operation ouch! Good choices imo, but he's seen them all, more than once! What else might be like? What can I tempt him away with?

7yo DD loves these and also enjoys Blue Peter, Cooking Buddies and Dengineers (all available on iplayer).

Singleandproud · 13/08/2024 12:55

DD was a big fan of the Back in Time... Series when families went back in time and experienced life in various eras still available to stream online.

My DD9 and Nephew 6 love Deadly 60 (and OO with some fondness for HH)

OverAnxious727 · 13/08/2024 12:56

DD9 also loves "Kay's Anatomy" the book which is excellent and would suit Operation Ouch fans!

Do you have Disney, there is a great series with Jeff Goldblum into the history of various things which we enjoyed and learnt lots about random and every day things it's on the National Geographic section

Pets factor (iPlayer)?

My grandchildren loved My Life on CBBC. I think there’s lots still available on iplayer . It’s a documentary style and each episode features a child and what their live entails. I’m not making it sound very interesting but honestly it’s worth checking out if you haven’t already seen it. We’ve watched some episodes a few times.

My life sounds perfect for my 9yo. She used to love 'where in the world' which isn't on anymore.

I put on 'round the twist' this morning,1989 classic - scared the pants out of them ha ha - parenting error!

Also remembered Maid Marian so that might be safer...

Amazing thank you!

My kids (7&9) love documentaries on channel 5. They are usually not as heavy as a BBC one- quite exciting and simply explained. They love Drain the Oceans, any documentary by Dan Snow (especially the valley of the kings and Stonehenge ones) and there is a fabulous gunpowder plot one by one of the van Tullekan brothers. You can get them on My5

Snozwanger · 17/08/2024 18:59

My son liked both of those and Dengineers as Simeon has suggested. Have you tried Odd Squad? Quite a few series of those.
