DH and I are at that age when we are starting to think about possibly downsizing, although he is not really keen. I was thinking why doesn't someone make a TV programme like Location, location, or Escape to the Country but about people downsizing. It often gets mentioned on here that older people 'ought' to move out of larger houses into more suitable accommodation and then other people say how difficult it is etc. I think it might be interesting to explore the reality with different couples and it might highlight the subject, make more people think about it. I remember a thread on here some time ago with someone blaming Escape to the Country for her elderly parents wanting to/having moved to somewhere completely unsuitable so these programmes obviously do influence people's behaviour. What does anyone else think?
