Strange scheduling at the US Open. Unlike Wimbledon, for example, they have both defending champions on the same day. But this gives Djok what is really the prime slot on Ashe in the night spot (because over there, it really is the top spot).

Coco has the afternoom match, after Domi Thiem starts things off, and Sloane Stephens , the early evening match.

It's nice, I suppose that the other 2 matches feature former champions (and Domi is playing an American, more to the point- Ben Shelton) .

I suppose, to me, it would make more sense to have both defending champions in the evening - as that will be when people will be viewing at home.

(No-one watches in the stadium anyway, too busy eating and drinking ).
