Woah Jane- well, that settles it!

Allegedly . <looks around for lawyers>

It seems this stuff is so easily transferable we would probably all test positive for it just from looking at someone who used it!

That Timotei Tsitsipas thing is very funny Grin (although I've had surgery today, so don't want to laugh too much Hmm)
Read the Janik thing earlier. Think it said they found a billionth of a gram equivalent in his system (though that may just be the meds talking!) and apparently he has very dry skin, which can crack, so that's probably how it got in his system.

JaneJeffer · 20/08/2024 20:02

Hope you have a speedy recovery kazza

The Sinner thing is all very odd. It feels very wrong that he loses points when they’ve agreed he is completely innocent - although I suppose the argument is that innocent or not he might have had some sort of minute unfair advantage from the trace of this drug so not fair that he then benefits over other players.

Feels a bit strange that this is the first we’re hearing of it whereas for other people it’s all over the news immediately. I suppose it just depends what drug is found and how much of it.

Rather scary for players though if this is the sort of thing that can happen!

kazzaD66 · 20/08/2024 20:06

Thanks Jane No* *housework for 3 weeks (although I would rather be able to do it, as it would mean I wasn't in this position in the first place Sad) And I don't have Sky, so no US Open (plus half the matches are overnight anyway!).

Raahh · 20/08/2024 20:08

Chessie The more I think about it, the less it makes sense- if they have accepted he is innocent of everything, then stripping him of points/prize money says the opposite of that, surely? And yes, other's then benefit.

And I don't like the fact the has been announced now less than a week before the start of a slam- there will be many who think 'no smoke without fire' and going to the US Open may now be quite awkward.

kazzaD66 · 20/08/2024 20:08

Yes Chessie. I'm* *sure he's not fussed about losing the prize money but 400 points is a different matter. Especially when Beelzebub is waiting to pounce! Angry

Raahh · 20/08/2024 20:10

Sad kazza - hope you feel better soon.

We will be here to give completely random insghts into what is going on, which will leave you none the wiser.

Like the commentators, really Grin

JaneJeffer · 20/08/2024 20:13

Grin thanks Jane it's only right and just Grin

Thanks Raahh Grin The MN commentary/waffle will keep me going and amused and is always more insightful than the bollocks most of the commentators come out with Grin

Fizzywinegum · 20/08/2024 21:55

Get well soon kazza - hope you're ok Flowers

IceandIndigo · 20/08/2024 21:57

Hope you’re recovering ok kazza. A couple of years ago I had day surgery on the NHS and was delighted when they gave me a date a few days before Wimbledon fortnight, it all worked out very well!

JaneJeffer · 21/08/2024 12:18

I watched some of this last night after falling asleep at 8 and being wide awake a few hours later grr

Tsitsidosa were adorable with their win.

OP posts:
ChessieFL · 21/08/2024 13:43

Eergh, that’s really creepy!

ChessieFL · 21/08/2024 13:44

Butch Jannik that is, not Tsitsidosa!

kazzaD66 · 21/08/2024 16:01

Thanks everyone. Will know more when I see the surgeon at my follow-up appointment in 2 weeks.

Did Stef say the winners cheque will go towards their children's school? Shock
Tsistidosa is definitely back on then Grin

JaneJeffer · 21/08/2024 22:58

I'm watching quallies on the tablet because Sky has gone kaput in the wind so we have no telly Angry

I see Paul Jubb failed to qualify as did Heather Watson. Billy 'arris has just won his match.

Fingers crossed for beautiful Maxime

You've hit the big time when you become a player in a video game even if you do look a bit freaky Grin

Hope that everything goes OK for you kazza

It must be weird being in a video game when you're only 21!

I've just seen that Rafa and his yacht are in Porto Christo - I'm sure that he'll be moving on soon when he finds out my travel plans 👀Grin

I'm still trying to work out how I'm going to watch the US Open when I'm away

Fizzywinegum · 23/08/2024 07:42

Maxime is out of the quallies and so is Billy 'arris

Fizzywinegum · 23/08/2024 09:46

I've just seen the draw for the US Open - Dominic Thiem is playing (I did think he'd retired but he's got a WC - I assume for being a former champion) - the bad news is that he's drawn Ben Shelton in the first round

Djok has got a qualifier (of course)

JaneJeffer · 23/08/2024 11:54

Of course he has Angry
