The subtitle of this series about megabrained children is "young and gifted", but by the end you half-wonder if it should be "young and cursed". We're catching up with kids we met in the last series - chess champ Peter (11), who wears a "genius in training" T-shirt, Adam (eight), who dissects rats in the kitchen, and Mikhail (five), who as Britain's youngest Mensa member has appeared on Oprah and Countdown. We also meet Georgia, who toppled Mikhail as Britain's youngest Mensa member. At two, she was measured with an IQ of 152 - impressive given that, being a toddler, she fell asleep halfway through the test. Her mother notes that "a lot of the pictures we take of Georgia have this white light around her . . ." That's the thing: inevitably, parents become caught up in making their gifted children into mini-celebrities, especially when TV crews get involved. It makes for fascinating TV; whether it's great for the pressure-cooker kids is another matter.

Do Aimee's parents ever smile?

They are speaking Latin. Well, they said grace in Latin.

The bit I was referring to was at the beginning when they were talking particle physics and I only caught one word that I'd ever heard before (quark)

Poor Michael - his life seems so claustrophobic. At least Aimee seems to gets out and about a bit.

Poor Dante. He looks as if he feels like no one understands him.

Dante's parents seem better than the rest..

I think that Michael actually thinks he is the smartest person in the world, and his parents seem to be encouraging that arrogance.

Yes. It sounds like he's realised he'll never know everything. That's good. Very humble. Parents appear to be pushy, you wouldn't really give a child those books would you?

She's bloody rude though. And again, arrogant.

Whilst 'clever Michael' was quite cute when he was smaller, he is now starting to become pompous, and a bit 'odd'.

I think that their parents have been so overwhelmed by teaching them adult things from a young age that they have forgotten to teach them basic social skills that most children get taught.

Like manners, and humbleness.
