Strictly come dancing

Think it's, time for strictly to finish - not just because of the reports of the pro dancers alleged behaviour but the whole idea has become so stale most of the time you've probably never heard of some of the contestants. I haven't watched it for at least 2 years.

What do other mumsnetters think

Ok @CP1978 we disagree. Vehemently. But the original question posited was Should Strictly be Axed.
I am very firmly Yes
You would appear to be No

That’s fine.

I really don't disagree.vehemently. It's a TV show at the end of the day, not something I'm going to get myself that worked up about.

Well I disagree. I think that strictly come dancing should continue. Everyone loves strictly and there are fans in up North of Blackpool who will agree with me. Halloween, Movie Musical week are brilliant and specially Blackpool Special. Bruce forsyth and Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli will be behind strictly 100 percent and so will I

You are aware that Brucie and Len are both dead, right?

dbryan · 27/07/2024 22:24

Of course I do. But they don't want 2 professional dancers to be victimise on something they did NOT do at all. That Amanda and Zara are trying to get them into trouble. Them 2 knew what they signing up to in the first place

I don’t watch, and I would not want to spoil it for you. But I, along with everyone else that watches terrestrial tv, pays for this drivel through my tv licence. And paying for machismo bullies to prance about in sequins is a waste of my cash .

You're paying for a lot more dire TV than Strictly!

You think they signed up to get spat at and kicked?

dbryan · 27/07/2024 22:41

Not in a way the news put towards it. It just we haven't heard Graziano Di Prima or Giovanni side of the story. We haven't even seen the footage video of it on what happened

OneBlueQuail · 27/07/2024 22:52

Always found the show quite boring anyway, each to their own!

I think they should do what Bake Off did and cut back on the silly themes and gimmicks.
I used to love watching it, but I haven't for years now because it all got too over the top and it spoiled it.

Did Bake Off go back to basics? I stopped watching when it moved to C4 because the challenges were OTT and there were too many ads. It got boring.

If it's all Victoria sponges again I might give it another go.

I am not sure I need to hear Graziano's side because there is no way he can justify the actions, unless he's arguing that they didn't happen, and it doesn't seem like he is. I liked him as a pro and am disappointed in his behaviour.

Giovanni, I will reserve judgement until I know more.

dbryan · 27/07/2024 23:13

Do you really think that Graziano kick and spit at Vick Hope, Kym Marsh or Judi Love. I don't think so

I don't know. Do you? AFAIK they haven't made any such claims.

Zara wasn't a natural dancer (though neither was Judi, but I guess she was funny!) and maybe he was frustrated with her?

Doesn't mean that she should have kicked her or spat at her. That's just unacceptable.

dbryan · 27/07/2024 23:42

I do agree with that and I do understand. But I don't think strictly come dancing should be axed for next year

I don't think it should be axed either but any claims of bullying behaviour need to be investigated and dealt with.
