To change the subject slightly, I’ve just discovered that The Carota Boys have a book out! Unfortunately I don’t speak Italian so will never know their carrotty wisdom.

Grin

I still want to know what happened to 'real carrot' woman.

And why aren't they at Wimbledon??if they let scruffy Kyrgios in, they can't be fussed about dress codes! Grin

JaneJeffer · 04/07/2024 22:13

I'm sure it'll be a bestseller Chessie Grin🥕

Raahh · 04/07/2024 22:15

I love that they have a whole line of merchandise. Very enterprising chaps, the Carotas.

Fizzywinegum · 04/07/2024 22:19

I’d heard that they’d released a record as well (or whatever it is that young people making music do these days) - I don’t think they’ve got time to support their boy any more!

Not sure if it’s already been mentioned but it was quite funny/sweet seeing Holger in the line up of players waiting to hug Andy

Someone is setting fireworks off here - not sure if it’s for Andy, the exit poll or some other random celebration

I feel a bit wrung out Hmm

And yes I’m missing Feli at Wimbledon this year - I loved listening to him (and seeing him) - maybe he’ll read me a bedtime story Grin

Wozniacki has beaten Fernandez 7-5 in the third. Play was suspended at 3-3 in the final set on Court 12 and they were moved to No1 Court to finish under the lights. I haven't heard of that happening before Confused A bit forward thinking by the AELTC. Have they been reading this thread? And were there any spectators left?

kazzaD66 · 04/07/2024 23:09

Yes, Feli would be nice. I hope he hasn't been permanently dumped by the BBC in favour of Dick Hmm

That is so weird because it was still very bright outside!

MirandaWest · 04/07/2024 23:24

I felt a bit tearful seeing Andy although agree the choice of music was a little odd.

JaneJeffer · 04/07/2024 23:29

Now they're talking about vomit on the BBC election results and I've just read that the vomiting bug is spreading rapidly here. What is happening?!

Can't help but think if she had been well that Duchess of Cambridge would have been there

I was thinking about her last night. Depends on the cycle of her treatments, I suppose. Maybe she'll come for a short while one day.

I have been reading your (plural your) thread in the night. I keep an eye on Wimbledon and now and again I sit and have a few minutes really watching it. I can't say I've noticed Isa's pronunciation, so now look, I've got to do a survey of that on Friday, as well as the other things on the list for the day.

upinaballoon · 05/07/2024 03:05

I didn't get up in the night because I needed to vomit. Just the customary wee. Then I thought I'd just see if my constituency results are out yet. Then I read a thread or two.

Raahh · 05/07/2024 08:02

That's good to know Grin

I did wonder this after I posted - I would be very unimpressed if that is the case.

Sam Smith will be very sad, I think she very much enjoyed commentating with him Grin

kazzaD66 · 05/07/2024 08:17

Can't say I blame her Raahh Grin Especially given the alternative Hmm

Raahh · 05/07/2024 08:24

Me neither kazza.

Bet she's gutted this year.

heldinadream · 05/07/2024 10:32

OK I am thoroughly electioned out and more than ready for tennis and I just looked at the TV listings to discover - as pretty much expected of course - that Wimbledon has been almost turfed off BBC1 in favour of further political yada yada. I know it'll all be on iPlayer and obviously I know the election is important and I'm very very very pleased to see the back of the Tories BUT I'm still cross that the election was called for a date that clashed with Wimbledon and I hope it NEVER EVER HAPPENS AGAIN! 😂

Having got that out of my system a bit I'm gonna have a shower get dressed and then a nice cup of tea and reset myself from election to tennis, which will improve life no end. Looking forward to another day of brilliant tennis. 🥎🥎🥎🥎🥎🎾😍

Fizzywinegum · 05/07/2024 10:47

I too will be very annoyed if the lovely Feli has been bumped for overgrown toddler/bad boy Kyrgios Angry

Not sure if I’ve recovered yet from last night - haven’t really seen any coverage of the election but pleased to see that a few people have lost their seats (Liz Truss, Rees Mogg etc)

I’m WFH so will hopefully be able to have one eye on the tennis later - not sure if Carlos/Tiafoe will be fun or if Big Foe will just get a battering

Emma and Maria Sakkari could be interesting

OP posts:
Raahh · 05/07/2024 11:00

Fizzy I know what you mean about the Big Foe/Carlos match- I would like it to be a good match, but I don't know if Carlos might just come out on fire.

I'm really looking forward to Grigor/Gael- I hope that is a good one, could be another long match.

I think Emma/Maria could go either way- Emma will have the benefit of the crowd behind her, but Maria could beat her if she plays the way she has been doing.

Raahh · 05/07/2024 11:01

Pfft. Raining at Wimbledon.

Raahh · 05/07/2024 11:01

And it looks very wet today, not just drizzle like Wednesday.

ChessieFL · 05/07/2024 11:09

I love the optimistic message ‘no play before 11.30’ - yeah right. It’s going to be ages looking at the rain!

Not sure how much tennis I’ll see today (or over the next couple of days) as we’re off camping today so will be restricted by how long my phone battery lasts! I want to watch Emma’s match but we’ll be on the motorway then.

Raahh · 05/07/2024 11:11

Chessie I know! there was barely any play the other day for hours- and it was hardly raining!
Maybe they mean 11.30 tomorrow?

ChessieFL · 05/07/2024 11:15

Oh now updated to midday! And that still feels ambitious.

ChessieFL · 05/07/2024 11:20

I wonder how many times we’ll be shown the Murray tribute today?!
