Hi Robbie

JaneJeffer · 08/07/2024 13:11

It's a bit Ben Vol-au-vent Parrot @heldinadream
(if you're old enough to remember Smash Hits)

I had to Google that!
Sadly it's not that I'm not old enough but that I'm too old...😳😂

Fizzywinegum · 08/07/2024 13:22

I’m old enough Grin Hmm

Not a very happy birthday for GMP

Bye Robbie

We're off to Centre Court now

JaneJeffer · 08/07/2024 13:34

Found the men again

JaneJeffer · 08/07/2024 13:37

Isa has a frog in her throat Grin

GrouchyKiwi · 08/07/2024 13:39

Rybakina is my girls' favourite player so we're watching her match.

JaneJeffer · 08/07/2024 13:40

Now they put the women on Premier Sports and none of the RBs are showing anything and doubles on BBC RB

RedHelenB · 08/07/2024 13:43

Raahh · 07/07/2024 15:58

Watching Djok help with the court covers- such a shame he didn't slip under them.

Looks like he's loving Wimbledon, can't stay away from the place.

JaneJeffer · 08/07/2024 13:44

My options are more limited now because they're hardly going to put anyone on Court 18 this week?!

Raahh · 08/07/2024 13:58

Managed to miss all of Lorenzo's match, but I'm glad he won. I hope GMP enjoy's the rest of his birthday.

I see Jannik is watching Anna- that's nice. Grin

ChessieFL · 08/07/2024 14:14

FFS, pick a channel and stick to it BBC! I’ve been watching for a couple of hours and have had to switch between BBC1 and BBC2 about 5 times to follow the match I’m watching.

Raahh · 08/07/2024 14:23

It's really getting out of hand, and worse than usual Chessie. It's also rarely as seamless as it used to be- there is always a gap, an advert, or a 'chat' from Isa or Claire before anything starts again.

AndDjokovicDancing · 08/07/2024 14:30

Agree, disjointed.

But it is the adverts I have most issue with.

I actually checked I wasn't watching through Sky the other day.

I'm not interested in adverts, I want to watch tennis and if they need a filler I want to see the crowd or the players not some loud jarring advert.

JaneJeffer · 08/07/2024 14:31

Oh dear

Raahh · 08/07/2024 14:31

Another retirement! Blimey.

GrouchyKiwi · 08/07/2024 14:32

Wow, what a crazy tournament.

ChessieFL · 08/07/2024 14:32

Oh no. I can’t remember a previous year with this many retirements or withdrawals. It’s very odd.

Raahh · 08/07/2024 14:35

Chessie it really is- makes you wonder what is going on. Too many tournaments? I know players have complained about the change in the balls, across the tournaments- could that be why so many have wrist injuries?

Doesn't bode well for the Olympics- especially as really that isn't a mojor part of the tennis year, so many are skipping it anyway to prioritise the tour (or don't want to go back to clay).

MirandaWest · 08/07/2024 14:43

I'm sure I've never seen this many retirements and injuries.

And the one person I would be happy to have pull out hasn't (yet....)

JaneJeffer · 08/07/2024 14:44

There's no getting rid of that fecker Miranda

JaneJeffer · 08/07/2024 14:47

Come on Arthur get one at least!

ChessieFL · 08/07/2024 14:47

He’ll probably win just by being the only person left standing.

Raahh · 08/07/2024 14:47

Yes, funny isn't is, the one person, who had a recent surgery (that the commentators are all back tracking about and minimising how risky it is, and how long it the recovery time is ) is the one who is still skipping around, and will probably win it.

Hmm
Raahh · 08/07/2024 14:48

x post Chessie .

He will be playing himself by Sunday, at this rate.
