I was wondering that as there have been one or two controversial cases of trans women being put in a female prison and the uproar that created.

I'm just guessing here but I'd guess the number of trans women in prison far exceeds the number of trans men

There have been quite a few transwomen in the female estate but no transmen in the male estate.

From memory of what i have read, about 67 transwomen, many were sex offenders and DV offenders.
Hopefully Tom will get his just desserts in clink soon.

Yes definitely more trans women in female jails than trans men in male prisons. For the latter it is a lot more dangerous and for the trans women they are the dangerous ones (particularly when they are sex offenders and abusers).

I'm interested to see how it plays out for Matty. I can't believe they put him into a male prison. Even the guards acknowledged he is highly vulnerable.

As for Samson, surely this despicable act is enough to get him kicked out the Dingle family. Others have been kicked out for far lesser crimes/actions.

I wasn't sure that the guard was going to be friendly and genuine with Matty.

I get what you mean @BirthdayRainbow , despite the warning the guard seemed to show a bit of disdain for Matty being trans.

I thought he was just trying to advise that it was better Matty not mention being trans for his own safety whilst still leaving the ultimate decision to Matty himself.

I missed the end, was matty put into a prison then?

I watched Screw and there was a trans man in it (the same actor from eastenders who played Stacey's brother from years ago if anyone remembers) and he got out but then either reoffended or something else happened and got put into a women's prison even though they had basically been trans for years.

It was just the prison van @GrandTheftWalrus. The guard said he will have his own cell for now so I suppose if he gets a sentence he will be sharing 😬

There was a trans woman prisoner in Bad Girls, which I saw an episode of just recently. The women wanted them to go to the men's prison instead but they ended up staying. I don't think the men's prison would have been the best place for that particular character.
