I have just watched this on early streaming so not sure if it is on general viewing yet.
This is a documentary series about a man who tried to murder his wife by tampering with her parachute but she survived.
I remember it on the news at the time (all the more so as it was a local story) and also watched a previous documentary with Fiona Bruce a few years ago which is still available on netflix.
In the previous programme the wife would not be interviewed as she was still in denial due to the coercive control this evil man had and still was putting her through but she has participated in this new series.
It is a chilling insight into the level of control such men can have over their victims.
Well worth watching.

Oh my god she went back on herself in court 😟

purpleme12 · 15/06/2024 21:39

Wow so she's trying to say it's herself now

purpleme12 · 15/06/2024 23:01

So she was just trying to pretend to herself that none of it had happened

Yes, the detectives must have been tearing their hair out.

Wow so the mum just took Nicolene out to dinner and sprung it on her that he was married 😮

purpleme12 · 15/06/2024 23:35

She didn't look like she was ready to do that interview on GMB

'the affairs weren't as bad as the police made out!'

Oh dear!

I thought the actor playing Emile Cilliers was too good looking to be playing him.

Victoria was very brave doing another skydive.

All I could think of was did she have any family or friends that could help her out with the children when she got out of hospital and was physically in so much pain, when Emile wasn't allowed contact with them.

Yes I was thinking pretty much the same things!

2’episodes would have been plenty. The behind the scenes actors were mostly distracting.

The male police detective, the first time I’ve heard a police officer swear the F word in TV :-(. Unnecessary.

Why she lied to the court I don’t think was explained fully; I am sure with hindsight she had more insight into this, but that wasn’t shared so much.

It really was a miracle she survived.

He really was the full-on stereotypical psychopath. That is to say not an obvious problem to be around, even charming - UNTIL and UNLESS you get in their way, then v dangerous. (His first girlfriend was from a poorer background, easier to manipulate.)

When asked, she denied lying in court and put it that she was 'keeping things back' (or words to that effect)
