Contestants were announced today for the new series starting on Monday 3rd.

I don't know if I can do it this year folks.

I'm watching, although am too old for it...

I'm not a fan of Joey Essex. I've never watched TOWIE but saw him in Celebrity SAS a few years ago & he came across as so sexist & misogynistic - was only nice to the men & women he fancied & was dismissive id any older/less pretty woman. He was horrible on that show!

Anyone else feel like the people in this year aren't as "glossy" as previous years. They don't seem like Instagram/influencer material as much. They're a bit more, dare I say it "normal" like you'd see in any night club in your average city.

Mimi is stunning though.

I've just watched this morning (after giving up on it last night) and I agree with you. Some of them do look a bit more 'normal' apart from the woman from Brighton and the Scouser.

The girl from Brighton, Harriett, is a friend of Saffron Barker and Luca Bish and probably is in the same circle as Lucinda and the and the other mouthy girl who's name escapes me from a previous series...they are all on the fame train. I remember being out and about with many of their parents back in the day so it's interesting 🧐 the screechy annoying accents are a concern because I realise mine is probably the same 🤬😆

I enjoyed last night and have tentatively high hopes for this season.

I know historically black men and women generally haven’t done well in love island but there’s something about Mimii and Ayo that makes me think they might buck the trend.

I agree it seems the format has had a long overdue tweak too...it's escapism for me at my age and a reminder of how short life is. The Hideaway is open to any non couples apparently so a nod back to the old LI days perhaps? It's all very contrived and the antithesis to politics and what really should matter..it's fluff and nonsense
