Loved Mallorca Files, Endeavour, Murder in Provence, Macdonald and Dodds, Dalziel and Pascoe and all the above. Wondered if anyone has any newer recommendations - even from the Channel 4 Scandi series? - difficult to see from the initial precis of a series if it has any quirkiness or humour. Loved Strike too. Father Brown and Madame Blanc were a bit crap in comparison.
Thanks in advance

That was it! Got my Thames towns mixed up. I enjoyed it.

Me too. Bit of a shame there wasn't a longer series, hope they'll make more.

Whitstable Pearl
Brokenwood
Mrs Siddhu Investigates
Maigret (I like the Rowan Atkinson ones)
Signora Volpe
Harry Wild
Darby and Joan
Foyles War
There was one with Samantha Bond recently, set in Henley or somewhere.

Rosemary and Thyme?

Ashley Jensen, Matt Horne and Katy Wix are all fab in Agatha Raisin - if you can track it down. I watched Endeavour, Inspector Morse and Lewis as I'd never seen any of them on ITVX and loved it. Dipping my toe into Poirot now but not sure... 😕

If you have access to Alibi then try My Life is Murder starring Lucy (Xena) Lawless, it’s great fun.

Brokenwood Mysteries for sure . A cross between Midsomer Murders and Death in Paradise but set in New Zealand. The more you watch them the better as people/jokes reappear.

I really enjoyed Hinterland. Think it's on iPlayer. Rather solemn with a moody detective.

Nonewclothes2024 · 21/04/2024 19:31

Magpie Murders.

Try Astrid: Murder in Paris. It's broadcast on More4, so presumably on catch up too. An Autistic Archivist with a brilliant eye for detail assists a police team. All the characters are really likeable. Each episode is stand alone but it's worth watching from the beginning to see how the characters, particularly Astrid, develop. Oh, it's in French with subtitles.

Another vote for Marlow Murder Club.

Also Agatha Christie's Murder is Easy

Zen - Rufus Sewell, Italian detective, only three episodes made

Shakespeare and Hathaway - one of the best series ever
