Has anyone else been watching this? I have enjoyed it so much, our own (uk) Tobias Menzies playing Stanton, the war secretary who led the hunt for Lincoln’s killer, and a brilliant Irish actor playing Booth, the actor/assassin.

it’s a period of history I know almost nothing about and am now going down rabbit holes reading about it! Such a great series!

I was interested in this but didn't watch as my sub is about to expire.

How many episodes are there?

Maybe I can binge watch by the end of the week.

Thanks

Seven episodes, I dont know why it hasn’t gained more attention. Honestly one of the best things I’ve seen in a while - period drama, political intrigue, social commentary and a great thriller as well for someone who knows little of the case!

Thanks so much. I am definitely interested but will have to end sub on friday.

But am making a list of series that have started recently. And will maybe resubscrive for a month.

I think historical dramas, more factual ones, dont seem to get much interest on this forum.

Thank you Mediumred for the posting about it - I really enjoyed it. Have you seen the other series of Manhunt about the Unabomber and Atlanta Olympics bombing - they were excellent too!

Loved it and the two actors you mentioned were both excellent. I've read the book and thought it was an excellent adaptation.

Oh yay!!! Thanks for commenting! @AlbanyNY and @doonaduvet.

I have seen the Unabomber hunt, which was brilliant, but not the Atlanta one, are the series linked?

I know obviously this Manhunt
was based on a very famous case, for Americans, but it just seems so fantastical, like Leonardo DiCaprio (or whoever Booth’s modern equivalent is in terms of fame and glamour) shooting the president and then going on the run!

Glad the book was great, I will give it a go, really intrigued to learn more!

Didn't know there was a book - might have to find it. Yes the actors were amazing.
The Atlanta bombing one was technically Season 2 of Manhunt but with completely different actors and different organizations- here is the IMBD link https://www.imdb.com/title/tt5618256/episodes/?season=2. The actor who played the older bomb tech I got a little crush on - I've watched it twice. Hope you can find it.
