I've finally finished watching Supernatural

I know I'm massively behind the times, I've watched it on and off for years and always loved it, putting off watching the last 3 seasons because I didn't want it to end but I've just finished watching the final episode and cried like a baby and felt the need to share.

That's it really! It had its ups and downs, but what a fantastic series. I suspected it would end like that but I still cried. Now I'm at a loss as to what to watch next...!

Also, watched The Boys. It's brilliant. I think it's so well done and yes, Jensen as Solider Boy has not escaped my attention...

Yeah Soldier Boy is so wrong, but so, so right. If you get what I mean? 😉

I cried my eyes out at the last episode of Supernatural too! My fella thought I was mad. Mind you, I did the same when John came back and he had that lovely moment with Dean where he finally let him know he was proud of him. Sobbed my eyes out!

MotherofKitties · 09/04/2024 14:26

@Negangirlxx 100% wrong, but also so very, very right like you say 😉😂

The Boys has fast became one of my favourite 'new' series; no surprise Erik Kripke is behind it, I love his work. Again, it's so dark but it's also hilarious - I think it's been Karl Urbans best character to date by miles

Yeah The Boys is brilliant. Kripke is a fantastic writer. I do love a dark, gritty show. Karl Urban has knocked it out of the park with Butcher, and the humour is spot on.

Love Supernatural- can't beat Dean Winchester

Mothership4two · 09/04/2024 18:50

Yes OP I enjoyed 3 Body Problem. Have you watched Dark on Netflix? I loved it but it's really mind-bendy. The same people also made 1899 which was good - ended on a cliff-hanger though

ArchaeoSpy · 09/04/2024 19:17

not sure how accurate it is but theres rumour is being given a new series

ArchaeoSpy · 09/04/2024 19:17

for the dean winchester fans, the actor was also in season 2 of dark angel with jessica alba

ArchaeoSpy · 09/04/2024 19:18

Negangirlxx · 09/04/2024 12:59

I loved Rowena!
She was brilliant!

the actor and the one who played chuck/god are together in real life

I know. They recently had a baby together! ☺️

MotherofKitties · 09/04/2024 20:05

@Mothership4two Ohh no I haven't! (Scuttles off to research Dark...)

MotherofKitties · 09/04/2024 20:06

@ArchaeoSpy I saw that rumour today as well; until it comes out of one of the actors or Kripkes mouth I don't dare get my hopes up though 😬

Dark Angel.

He also appears in one episode in season 1 as Ben before he comes back as Alec.

I love Dark Angel but it’s a very niche one. Not many people have even heard of it

Mothership4two · 10/04/2024 03:37

I really enjoyed Dark Angel but I don't think it ran for very long - didn't it end on a cliff-hanger? I was surprised it didn't go on for several series.

Soubriquet · 10/04/2024 09:26

Yes it landed on a cliff hanger. Really frustrating

RhubarbAndFlustered · 10/04/2024 11:34

@MotherofKitties

Jensen is coming to Edinburgh Comic Con in October. My arse will be right there stalking him!

Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley aka Damon and Stefan Salvatore plus Bonnie Bennet were there last year along with Supernatural's Sam, Mary, Ruby and Crowley.

Cons are bloody brilliant if not extremely expensive. My daughters paid far too much for a selfie with OUST's Evil Queen Regina! Definitely recommended for fans like us despite the price.

MotherofKitties · 10/04/2024 14:54

@RhubarbAndFlustered Edinburgh you say? I am 100% looking into that! And as a big Damon Salvatore fan I can imagine last years line up was nothing short of spectacular 😁

I've just seen Castiel is going to be there too. I'm going to have to give this some serious consideration...!

I was very into Spn fandom and all things Jensen Ackles 😁but I haven't ever watched the last couple of series. I went to a convention in Vancouver in 2014 with a bunch of equally besotted ladies I'd met online, saw most of the cast and had a great time! Edinburgh would be a little closer... hmmm...
He was very amusing in The Boys, it's a very clever series.
I enjoyed him in Dark Angel too (and the film Ten Inch Hero).

But it's so annoying when series are dropped part way in. For instance, years ago there was a series called "American Gothic" which was amazing, but cancelled after one season. At least Netflix's "Sense8" had a final, tidying-up episode.

Just announced tonight that DJ Qualls will be going too. He plays Garth the Hunter/Werewolf/dentist Grin

For those able to get to Edinburgh in October

MotherofKitties · 11/04/2024 08:52

@RhubarbAndFlustered Garth's friendship with Sam and Dean and Deans continued mild bafflement of him always amused me through the series. There's so many great supporting characters in Supernatural, Garth, Bobby, Rufus, Crowley, Rowena, Charlie, Meg, Kevin... The list goes on! And it's those characters that really help round out a series, something that I feel is often missing from other programs.

That being said there's not that many series that have 10+ years of material to work with so I'll let them off!
