Greys Anatomy - Season 20 UK Pace No Spoilers

CallieTorres · 24/03/2024 09:37

So the UK and US pace for season 20 is going to be pretty close

This thread is for UK pace, where the season 20 premiere of Grey's Anatomy will drop via Disney+ on Thursday 28 March, with episodes dropping weekly on Thursdays thereafter

Not sure if there will be gaps like they have in the US

They're only 5 episodes in! That's not mid season?!

Anon2190 · 02/05/2024 16:35

TTPD · 02/05/2024 16:14

It's having the mid season break and isn't back until the 16th May

But I googled and read the spoiler - well I stopped myself- for episode 6. I thought the detailed ones weren’t out until after the episode had aired.

TTPD · 02/05/2024 17:29

@Anon2190 it has aired in America though. We're behind.

It's a short season due to the writers strike

Oh I thought that Uk saw it the same time as the US?

TTPD · 02/05/2024 18:23

@Anon2190 The US is getting episode 6 today. And there are only going to be 10 episodes overall this season.

Booksandflowers · 02/05/2024 18:34

Only 10 episodes? How ridiculous 🤣. Feel like I’ve just started the season but I’m actually half way through it!

spiderlight · 02/05/2024 23:46

Ten episodes?! 😮😟

twigy100 · 03/05/2024 08:12

On the plus side I've just read they are already working on season 21 and due to be released in the autumn.

spiderlight · 03/05/2024 15:01

That's some consolation, then!

Am I right in thinking that this is the last series of Station 19? I got sucked into watching it when the two series were very tightly intertwined. If it's a short series like Grey's, it will be a bit of a harsh ending for it, although I can live without it!

TTPD · 03/05/2024 16:24

Yep it's the last season of station 19, which I think is a shame as I quite like it!

Cat1971 · 04/05/2024 12:51

Agreed - I like that there are two episodes to watch each Thursday! What on earth will I watch when Station19 ends?! :-( (seen New Amsterdam, Private Practice, The Resident, ER, House, The Good Doctor etc)

FiloPasty · 10/05/2024 21:48

Have you been watching Fire Country?
also I really like tracker on Disney +

TTPD · 17/05/2024 21:45

Just watched this week's episode - is there something wrong with Richard that I've forgotten?

I don't know why Owen asked Bailey when she last had a day off - didn't she literally just come back from months and months of sabbatical?

Why was Adams so bothered by Kwan moving in? That wasn't his room was it?

I like the new decor of the house though.

CabbageBearGoat · 18/05/2024 07:38

@TTPD the Richard thing hasn't been revealed yet, it's all a bit mysterious.

I think it's been a few months since Bailey came back from sabbatical so reasonable to suggest she's repeating bad habits.

Kwan has moved into Adams' old room - hence the "here's your charger" but again I think it's been about a month since he moved out so 🤷 snooze you lose!

Personally, I'm hopeful it'll stay at friendship for Kwan and Griffiths as I think it's needed! I miss the Grey/Yang friendship moments from the old days.

TTPD · 18/05/2024 07:42

I agree - I was a bit worried when Adams was walking up the stairs.

I'd forgotten he had moved out, so I was thinking he was either massively underreacting to Kwan moving into his room, or overreacting to him moving into a spare room.

burnoutbabe · 25/05/2024 14:30

Just seen episode 6. Not sure why Schmidt wants peads as he shows no particular passion for it.

Assume just 4 more this season. (Inc ep 7 which I can watch already)

Arconialiving · 25/05/2024 15:23

Yeah, gutted it's such a short season! Also agree re Schmidt - Paeds seems to have come out of nowhere?!

I like s19 but don't understand why they do all the medical stuff. They are fire fighters , it's like it's trying to be greys part 2.

As far as I understand it, the medical stuff they do is accurate. You get charged for calling an ambulance (and anything that happens in hospital) but not charged for calling the fire department out (but some places do charge if fire takes you to the hospital).

Calling the aid car that instead of "ambulance" or similar is a local Seattle thing to distinguish the two.

YellowHairband · 01/06/2024 08:06

I do think firefighters in America do more health stuff. I think they are often paramedics as well.
Seattle even has a "health one" service that deals with both physical and mental health - so station 19's "crisis one" seems like a fictional version of that.

TherapistInATabard · 01/06/2024 08:53

Ooh just found this thread. Schmidt is incredibly annoying and totally wrong for paeds.

WhyDoesItAlways · 03/06/2024 09:59

Same thing happens in 911 and 911 lonestar so also seems like LA and texts also have an aid car alongside their firefighters. I've seen in crop up in other medical dramas where they talk about calling the fire department when they need medical assistance.

Arconialiving · 03/06/2024 14:47

Same in Chicago Fire too, so it seems to be the way they have the ambulances aligned with fire service in the US @WhyDoesItAlways (unless a private ambulance, but who knows how that works!)

crayfishyum · 07/06/2024 19:47

anyone else think the notion that Meredith and Amelia have cured Alzheimer’s not only completely daft and far fetched but also very insensitive and actually a bit offensive?
