Can anyone tell me please why that lady, who works in the shop and wears the saris and clearly has asian children (or child?) is in fact native ENGLISH, as also appears to her her husband/lover? I don't get it!!!

Chocolaterocking horse, Her husband was Asian, he was also gay and was shagging the young lad from the pub (Ian Gallagher) and got into loads of debt so when she found out she kicked him out, and faked his death.
She has only been with Stan (the copper) for about 2/3 episodes.
