We started to follow Our Girl back in 2014 and although there will be no further series, we do revisit from time to time. We have watched all seven series of Soldier Soldier to keep up our military terminology and have galloped through the three series of of The Musketeers. There was a definite connection between Our Girl and The Musketeers in the delightful form of Luke Pasqualino. We are currently part way through series 8 of Spooks. Having recently witnessed the demise of Adam Carter in the last series, he has been replaced by Lucas North.

Fancy that, a politician forced to resign over allegations of corruption and sleaze.

Yes, same time next week. I've been wondering whether if when we finish this current series, we take a break and watch something different before going back for the rest of it. At times it does get a bit samey...I suppose there are only so many national crisis scenarios

Got lost for a while there and had to log out and log in again. Anyway that was a bit of an odd episode. Agree maybe a little break from Spooks with something else sounds a good idea. See you all next week.

Yes, I agree with you both. I almost nodded off at one point and definitely lost concentration. Are there two more series after this? It would certainly be a shame if we didn't follow through to the very end on Spooks but agree a rest from it isn't a bad idea.

Do you have any suggestions as to what we should watch? I'm not very up to date with TV techy stuff so it will have to be on iPlayer or ITV equivalent I think for me to join in.

I will do some investigation and come back with some suggestions.

I've had a look at iplayer which was making suggestions for people who like 'Spooks' and it came up with, Life on Mars (so much scope for nostalgia and a wry laugh), Line of Duty (really good but quite tense) and Hustle (more lightweight, but still likely to bamboozle).

I haven't looked closely at ITV+. I pay the extra to watch without adverts and get Britbox, so it can be a problem if we're having adverts at different times or none at all. Alternatively, there's UK drama which has some cosy crime series and old dramas like Howard's Way (hilarious in retrospect) or the House of Elliot...everyone gets adverts on there. I guess BBC would be easiest for an ad free experience.

Some good ideas there Rhu. I have been having a look through iPlayer and certainly plenty of stuff on there but difficult to decide. I remember enjoying Hustle and certainly the ideas for Cons were very varied and of course enjoyable to watch as all very tongue in cheek. Might be good for watchalong and certainly lighter viewing than Spooks recently. Plenty of episodes to choose from and each one an independent story.

Rhu I've only seen the odd Hustle on the Drama channel but think it would be a good one and very much in contrast to Spooks which seems to have got incredibly heavy and very black this series.

Will discuss options after this, but Hustle might be a fun watch.

I feel like I've seen that new Home Secretary before in Spooks as an agent or something.

She does corporate very well in other programmes she's been in.
