Anyone watching this? It's quite hard to follow. I can't work out what's real and what's dramatised. The mums are played by actors but what about the kids mum is she real?

Both Rupert and Sabine seem absolutely crazy and I'm glad they both did jail time, although I feel like it's added to Rupert's vision of himself. He was an absolute idiot.
Sabine seems to genuinely believe the story, scary.
Totally unbelievable really.

I've started to listen to the Hoaxed podcast. and they were talking about how the mum didn't fit in - an example was given of the boy being invited to a birthday party, the mother dropped both siblings, with a 'oh they're vegan'. Also got a bit annoyed that they weren't fed correctly. It felt like 2 mumsnet party threads rolled into one, no wonder the other parents thought she was a bit odd/CF.

I thought this was utterly chilling- like Salem- and so admired the mums who investigated when no one else would despite parenting and holding down jobs. I was worried for their wellbeing even thought in theory it is over especially the one still on the chat rooms- being exposed to that sort of awful content must affect her. I feel so sorry for the father and the children.

So I’ve just watched this and came into this thread as usually these MN discussion are good.

Yeah. It is laughable how dim people are...particularly on this thread. It's to be expected though. People just don't believe something until it happens to them. And everyone knows no-one would ever abuse a child. Not as if the stately homes thread is full of adult survivors or anything.

By "some people" do you mean the single post on this thread that says "I'm sorry, but I do think there is a bigger story to all this"... or are you talking about another MN thread that was made when this story was first reported?
