guy ritchie thing. vinnie jones etc. is anyone else watching?
i'm only on episode two but the violence has made me wince and thank god i'm not involved with coke dealing lunatics etc etc.
i really like it tbh and the main man reminds me a bit of jamie dornan or david gandy. can't decide which. probably a cousin of them both tbh.

It's enjoyable nonsense.

I love Daniel Ings 😂

If you're going to continue watching it thrn you need to watch the mast 10 mins, the chicken bit has relevance.

Oh really?
I’ll go back to it then.
thanks for letting me know!

sweatervest · 14/03/2024 18:40

i am literally oooooooooooooooh at daniel ings in it. i think he is awesome and i'd never seen him in anything before but i googled him and he went to lancaster university and did theatre studies.

it's just total escapism tbh.

Agree. I must admit I looked at my phone for a bit thinking it was another Guy Richie indulgence but it is important!

Sparklfairy · 15/03/2024 09:25

Does anyone else think Daniel ings is a weird hybrid of Hugh Grant and Rowan Atkinson?

He's really good in Lovesick

Just joining this to say I loved this - it WAS ridiculous but very stylish and fun.

Mothership4two · 30/03/2024 22:09

@DeltaAlphaDelta79

We finished it yesterday. It was ok, was a little bit underwhelmed if I'm honest.

Same here. I thought it started well, but got a bit messy and some strands were just daft. Thought the acting was very good thoughout.

I binged the whole thing. It was good ‘Guy Ritchie’ fun to pass the time, but the acting was atrocious.

That main guy was as wooden as a plank and had two expressions. Obviously went to the Sharon-from-Eastenders Acting School. The Susie one was no better. Spoilt it, really. Would’ve been far better with some more charismatic, talented actors.

If you mean Theo James then many people with disagree.

crockofshite · 31/03/2024 21:00

There's a film version on apple TV, but I'm also enjoying the netflix series. Yes, there's a high body count 😁 but some cracking characters and actors.

Is it reality? Maybe but not for me, I don't live that life thank god!

MrsEllenGriswold · 31/03/2024 21:09

I thought it was quite fun and didn’t take itself too seriously. Loved Joely Richardson and Vinnie Jones.

I think he's wooden as a plank too and very unbelievable in the role.

Theo James is frankly gorgeous looking plus he's smart, he read Philosophy at University of Nottingham. He also has a dark chocolate voice.

sweatervest · 03/04/2024 21:40

daniel ings was on this morning, literally this morning.

plus he said that he did theatre degree at lancaster so i'm hoping that he'd forgotten this and had read this thread and was reminded by moi.
alison was definitely getting giddy every time he said anything and i think she is a smitten kitten tbh.

I love Daniel Ings in Lovesick (and the Crown) and also the guy who played Angus in Lovesick is in this too.

Didn't watch beyond the chicken scene finale but might go rewatch Lovesick again as it's so bloody brilliant and underrated.

Theo James?

Annonymiss123 · 04/04/2024 15:46

Binged on this at the weekend and loved it. I normally eyeroll when I see Vinnie Jones in the cast, but I thought he played this role really well.

Arraminta · 04/04/2024 19:46

I thought Vinnie Jones performance was much more subtle and really enjoyable to watch.

Garrie · 04/04/2024 22:59

@YourFogLightsAreOnTheresNoFog yes. Like a plank.

I love him. A lot of people want him as James Bond.

Meadowbird · 05/04/2024 07:20

I thought vinnie jones’ acting had really improved- as a pp said subtle and quite touching. The main woman was stilted but i think she was meant to be. The main guy was rather low key but again I think he was meant be. So beautiful though, happy to watch him again. I can see him as Bond - he has the elegance and style that Daniel Craig lacks ( he was too thuggish for Bond imo).
Overall we enjoyed it but got a bit bored in the middle episodes and nearly gave up. The only characters I really cared about were the preggers sister and vinnie. Loved the hammy ott brother!

TesticularHeft · 05/04/2024 07:41

I'm glad I've read this thread. I enjoyed the film as a bit of fun with a great cast so wanted to watch this but DP said he wasn't interested. I wasn't sure if it was something I would bother with on my own but I definitely will now.

I believe Chanel Cresswell is in it from this is England and I think she's a great actor who's really underrated. She's the one that piqued my interest but your comments have tied me in Grin

Mothership4two · 05/04/2024 18:58

I thought Theo James was quite good - he was playing a 'cool' guy so was being understated (probably). He comes across as smooth and can see why he'd be up for Bond. I vaguely remember him from Divergent.

We remarked at the time how good Vinnie Jones was - we were surprised. I don't really remember him much from Lock Stock
