He doesn't need the money, i don't think it's about the money at all.

Cynical me thought it was deliberate - ie he's just been put up for the vote, he needs to do something to make him noticeable to the viewers

I actually kind of believe what he said - that he knows what the public perception of him is (those who have heard of him, obv - many havent), as the "black sheep", and he's wanting to show us he's not a nasty person - and potentially wanted to reconnect with the Middletons - altho he's very loose lipped already, so I think he may seal his fate with that one...

Good point. She's treating him like the man-child he is. Also agree that he knows nothing. All he keeps saying is that Kate is beautiful, like she's a bloody doll in a box. What about 'she's a great Mum' or 'She's a hard worker' or something? ANYTHING but just keep saying she's pretty!

Deliberate I thought too - Gary needs attention. Entertaining to watch and at the same time a bit icky. Hard to believe he's the brother of Kate Middleton's mum.

Yes, Carole's maiden name is Goldsmith.

I’d not heard the term multi till last night during his conversation with Fern. He told her he and his sister Carol were multis by the age of 30. Fern asked him to clarify and he said they were multi millionaires by 30.

I always thought it was a typically Jewish name. Maybe the grandpa was (I know nothing about the Middletons)

I'm just catching up. There's something really weird in the way that Gary speaks. He talks in hushed tones and constantly touches his face and looks around like he's paranoid. (When he was talking to Fern and she was speaking at normal volume) I'd put money on him being a full on conspiracy theorist. If he stays in longer, I'd imagine more of his thoughts / opinions will be down that road.

I was struggling to catch some of what he said during the chat with Fern. I had to increase the tv volume a couple of times. Surely he’s not naive enough to think he was having a private whispered conversation with her and wouldn’t be picked up on the mic.

I suspect he has no insider info to tantalise the viewers as he’s well and truly an outsider who wouldn’t be trusted. He’s being criticised today for giving an update on Kate’s health. He said she was receiving the best possible care. Hardly a surprising revelation but the media will have a field day with the clown.

He acts like someone that's never had a proper job. Maybe he stopped working at 30 and went off the rails. Never wise to party 24/ 7.

UG has imparted nothing new. All he's done is repeat what many others have already said. Apart from Prince William always holding out the olive branch to Prince Harry. I think that ship has definitely sailed.

If UG wants to be kept in this vote, and go a decent way through (I don't see him as a finalist), then he's really going to have to up his game. Of course, if he does, it'll be censored to death, and we won't know anything about it.

I'm intrigued to know about Gary and Carole Middleton as brother and sister. I thought they were from a posh background but was working class. Father a builder and mother in retail. Its a bit cringey when he mentions Kate and I don't think he knows that much actually.

It really is slow and uninspiring. It feels they are trying to blow life into a dead body.

Is there something about a live stream? I'm only watching the 9pm and late and live programmes but I feel like there must be more as I keep seeing about things not yet broadcast.

The livestream is on ITVX - I've not watched it but on L&L last night Oti Mabuse said that she has been staying up far too late to watch it.
