Just heard Fred Elliott, the butcher who used to be in Coronation Street has died!! Crazy, I watch coronation Street classic on Drama channel and its sad.😔😔😔

Yes, he was quite a character, wasn't he? He'd been in lots of other things too, which I may not have noticed at the time.

A memorable, well-written character with a chequered love life after his wife died young (long before he appeared onscreen).

Loved the scene with Mavis’ budgerigar that someone linked on another thread.

It’s a shame he never overlapped with Percy Sugden or Hilda Ogden, scenes potentially would’ve been very funny.
