Why is Aaron so worried about having Hepatitis B when he said to Remi that they'd practiced safe sex? I thought the whole point of condoms over any other contraceptive precaution was that it stopped diseases?

Hep B can be caught a number of ways, I thought. I think medical staff are vaccinated as routine. My cousin who is a special needs teacher is vaccinated, as there's a chance of children biting her. I had it as one of my jabs before I went travelling. It's not great to catch it, but AFAIK, there's symptomatic treatment, and while the outcomes are poor in the worst cases, it's not an inevitable outcome, I don't think.

My mother died of Hep C, presumably from a blood transfusion - I'd worry more about contracting that.

But anyway, it appears to be some sort of public information storyline about Hep B.

Isn’t hep B part of the baby vaccine programme for the nhs for 8 years or so or is that a different one?

I loved Cara calling out the racism for Wendy.

Has it only been a year since it's been back on. Is that why they're celebrating toadie and terese 1st anniversary?

I'm on episode 184 so if you divide that by 4 episodes a week it's been back 46 weeks so nearly a year.

Have they made any announcement about keeping it running? I thought it was initially bought back for a limited run but assume if toadie is moving to director and they're bringing in new characters it must be carrying on.

Terrible acting from Nicolette this week!

Toadie and Therese celebrating their first anniversary already, that was a fast year. I've not heard anything about it being either renewed or cancelled. Even though I don't think it's as good as it used to be I don't think I'd cope if it was cancelled again.

Of late it's felt more old neighbours.
But old Nicolette would've been better in those scenes.

This bloke that Holly has her eyes on is awful. I don't see the attraction at all. (Well, the hire car is nice). He's got a really puffy, greasy looking face. Yuck.

I don't understand why they had toadie and therese get back together again after his trip to see callum. It would have made far more sense for them both to come to their senses while apart. It's so ridiculous to have them get back together just for him to suddenly u-turn again.

I am so over the Toadie storyline already. Just kill him off in a random accident, the more bizarre the better, and put the poor guy out of his misery. Nicolette's current method of acting is annoying as Hell too. And finally, in my little rant of negativity, the new guy needs to see a Dr in RL or lay off the booze as his eyes are f##ked!

On the upsides, I now really like Cara and Remi (although they should have picked better actors to be their sons), Wendy and Andrew and Byron and Sadie. And even Nell isn't quite as annoying since she yelled at the (bad acting) brothers that she wasn't a prize for them to fight over.

If Toadie was killed off we'd have to suffer Nell's overacting for weeks afterwards!

I'm also loving Wendy/Andrew and Cara/Remi. When the programme first returned there was so much new-ness. Now time has passed and these characters have settled in it gives the programme a nice solid structure to have established families. Though obviously it's only a matter of time before someone has an affair because, well, that's soap life! I still wish we'd have more extended family join for Andrew or Wendy. That big house is crying out to be filled.

Jane's house/family feels unsettled to me, and I wonder how that family will play out in future. I've always half expected Aaron/the actor to leave and I'm surprised he's stayed for so long, must be ten years or so? I'd love Clive to come back and reunite with Jane.

I just can’t fathom how Terese is so cool with Melanie now. She full on pursued her husband for months.

And everyone so hard on Holly for going out every night for a week or two. Fucking Mac telling on her to her dad like she’s deeply concerned and needs an intervention. She’s not doing drugs or anything!

Scheming Nicolette with her list! How will that play out? Eventually one of them will want to move away and there will be a custody battle.
