Will the Paul/Terese/Toadie/Mel quadrangle resolve itself? Will the Baddie Builders ever return? Will Eden get his comeuppance? All these and many more, coming up on Neighbours.

DH and I quite often go 'but weren't they just in ... or with ...' or 'wasn't it night time a minute ago'!

There do appear to be quite a few continuity errors in Neighbours. Or days just merge into each other. One minute a character is in one place then suddenly they are somewhere else

Yes! It all seems a much faster pace too. They jump ahead. Like the comment above, sometimes there's such a gap I think I must have missed an episode then find I haven't, they've just skipped forward.

BookW1tch · 19/07/2024 18:27

Is anyone else really confused about how old Andrew and Wendy are supposed to be? To me they look 35 max but if Sadie is 20 then that can’t be right.

Jaichangecentfoisdenom · 19/07/2024 20:24

The actress who plays Wendy is 40 now, I think. The actor who plays Andrew may be 35, I think? You're right, this is wrong!

TomBradysLeftKneecap · 20/07/2024 01:00

I am 100% not bodyshaming here but does anyone know if the actress who plays Wendy is pregnant?! I wouldn't have even noticed except for the wardrobe dept. have given her some seriously bad clothes to wear and strategic bags to hold and I don't even mean the ones where she's pretending to be in her 20s.

Mariposa123 · 20/07/2024 05:48

At one point I was half expecting her to go down the surprise pregnancy storyline - it was when they had some weird scene plot about them spicing things up, and then they kept showing her feeling sick after drinking with her new uni friends. It seemed the obvious neighbours route lol.

eta Wendy definitely looks about 40. Andrew also cos otherwise he’d be a bit young to be so chummy with Toadie? 35 would put him more in Leo and Aaron’s age bracket and they rarely interact.

MiddleClassProblem · 20/07/2024 08:21

Actors she doesn’t really mean anything though (although a 44 year old and a 35 year old isn’t very strange!).

I think the only way to get a rough age is from the JJ plot when we have a bit of a timeline? But I’m completely forgetting it all now! I can’t even remember how old Sadie is meant to be. She skipped some years too didn’t she?

Mariposa123 · 20/07/2024 09:18

Early 20s seems to be the standard neighbours age for young professionals to have had already existing teenagers - thinking of Karl and Susan who must’ve been young when they were introduced with a full family of teens. Also Cara and Remy - they all see the be able to juggle medical school with starting a family. Notice of course how characters introduced as the cool young 20 somethings aren’t starting families at the same age!

MiddleClassProblem · 20/07/2024 09:40

Terese must have been the same.

Great point about young ones not starting families! We get accidental pregnancies but rarely solid couple settling down. Kyle and Roxy might have been closest recently but Kyle must have been around 30?

That's interesting as to me they both look about 45. I think they look good but definitely mid 40s.

Yes, I wondered that earlier this week, when she was wearing a belted blue dress. I went so far as to google the actress's name to see if she was pregnant, but couldn't find much about her at all. The "young" clothes she's also been wearing do a great cover-up job, mind!

Jaichangecentfoisdenom · 20/07/2024 10:36

I wasn't thinking of the age difference, I only meant it was strange as it would have meant, depending on Sadie's age, Andrew might have become a father at the age of 15, 18 at the very oldest, if my sums are correct?

SleepingStandingUp · 20/07/2024 17:57

Sadie is 20, and JJ is 17 I assume. Wendy mentioned she was a young Mom to Cara, so id assumed she was 17/18ish which makes her character 38 tops.

If Andrew was the same age, he'd have been 21 when he offered to be a sperm donor, Felix did it instead and he's what, about four years younger?? So I reckon Andrew must be a bit older. About 21 when Sadie was born. So 41. How old is Toadie?

suburburban · 20/07/2024 18:17

Mind you Wendy said she was at uni so more like 21/22 when she had Sadie

I always find the ages of parent to children a bit to close in Neighbours

e.g. Kennedy's

suburburban · 20/07/2024 18:18

I mean in a realistic sense

MiddleClassProblem · 20/07/2024 18:25

It’s always about keeping them “young and attractive” parents. Dippy was something mad like 32 irl when she left and her daughter was an actual police officer.

Mariposa123 · 20/07/2024 19:56

Pierce was another one who had kids incredibly young, but at least they explained that in the his backstory!

What was pierce's backstory? I don't think
I remember watching anything about it.

EBearhug · 21/07/2024 00:04

Toadie is about 44. At least, the actor is, and he's been playing him since a teen, so can't be too different.

it was something like Hendrix’s and Alana’s mum basically paid him to be a sperm donor when he was 18 (I think) and that’s how he managed to start his businesses and make all his money.

so probably about the same age then, and now my age. I like working out who my peer group would be on shows. In Home and Away there's a bit of a gap between the young free 30s and the oldies so i'm hanging with Roo and Maz

If you take away the time skips Toadie is definitely 44. When they arrived Libby and Billy were one school year apart and I was in between them in age.

I am 44, nearly 45.

However, Nell (allegedly 15) was born within weeks of my 11 year old….

Rummikub · 21/07/2024 21:11

@Mariposa123 thank you, I missed that story completely!

Asta was born very soon around my twins births, 4.5 years ago....

I did a proper, long lasting, laugh out loud watching today's episode.

The first time I've laughed like that at Neighbours for years! Felt more like the comedy of Neighbours past.

(Hello btw! I'm new to posting here but a long time lurker)
