My guilty pleasure is watching things like the Great British Bake Off, Master Chef and at the moment the Great Pottery Throw Down. I've noticed that per episode no one seems to change their clothes.
Yesterday's episode of the Pottery Throwndown had (I think) 3 hrs to make a teapot and 2 cups, all contestants wearing said outfit, pots went into the kiln thingy, then a throwndown challenge, same outfit. They then had another 3 hours to paint their teapots, still the same clothes (contestants and judges). The teapot goes for firing (which I presume isn't a 5 minute job, maybe overnight) and the judging starts again - everyone still wearing the same clothes. Sometimes the challenges themselves take well over 10 hrs, not to mention any in between challenges.
I know it's not life or death but I've seen the same with all these types of programs. Do they get their clothes laundered by Channel 4 between takes, do they have to wear dirty clothes or are they expected to sit around for hours on end waiting and then spend about 6/7 hrs making stuff and then wait for their pots to bake? I think I've given this way too much thought but I ponder on it every week.
