A new round of the pods

Who will find love and who will just get exploited by the production team. Will anyone feed wine to a dog?

Netflix Pace meaning chat as episodes air, no arriving on the thread posting spoilers from Instagram about who got married and who still is before it gets shown on screen, please, thanks!

Yes I have no discipline and watched. And completely fast forwarded through all the repetitive dross! Look forward to 'discussing'

Mummyofthewildones · 06/03/2024 13:50

@Rosiiee @lemonsaretheonlyfruit waaahh! Was a shocker wasn't it?!

redboots765 · 06/03/2024 13:50

Watched!!

Jimmy and crazy. Good decision, she's unhinged when she drinks and neeeedy. Would have been madness for them to marry.

AD and Clay, oh my. I expected him to say yes!
I always thought he was too immature and that he had too many issues, but why go all the way to the alter, then say no. Then claim to want to stay together, incredibly cruel. That poor women.
His mum was awesome dealing with his dad, she had such dignity and restraint. His dad was a slimy toad.
I think they were a couple who could have been good for one another, but needed a few years together to work it out. They would have benefitted from pre marriage counciling, to work through his shit and the money conversations.
I think she's struggling to find a man as she's SO ready, that's when you marry the wrong man.

The other couple (also can't remember names) They were a good match and their families were so cute.

Tarkan · 06/03/2024 14:19

I watched then fell asleep again.

@redboots765 basically covered all my thoughts.

I thought Clay's mum was amazing, the fact she learned things through this that may have stayed covered up otherwise as well.

I've never thought that so many people could benefit from therapy as I do many of the people in this season. The show maybe need to think more about that before the next one.

LadyWhitwell · 06/03/2024 14:28

From the moment Clay's dad appeared I suspected the answer would be no. He is so slimy. I was so upset, I turned off the TV and threw the remote somewhere. Can't be arsed to watch the rest of it. I am more upset with myself for forgetting Clay's red flags.

jay55 · 06/03/2024 15:01

I'm not done but boy does Clay's dad bring alllll the answers. I actually felt for Clay, to have such an unhealthy relationship with a parent is so tough to overcome. His mom was great and so realistic about the whole situation.

Olika · 06/03/2024 15:09

The way Clay's mum spoke to her ex husband and told him what he needs to do to help Clay was awesome. She wasn't being pulled into his slimy bs.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 06/03/2024 15:20

I am glad Jimmy said No before the altar. Less cruel. She had shown her true colours with being brash, shrieky and indiscreet

I feel sorry for AD but Clay did the right thing. He doesn't want to do to her what his Dad did his mum. Fair play. His Mum is very dignified

Good Luck to Amy and Johnny they were quite bland though

I wonder if Robot Matthew will contact AD

I was so sad for AD.

Asiatoyork · 06/03/2024 15:36

I agree that Jimmy made the right decision.

The families of the other couple were very sweet.

MySpi · 06/03/2024 15:57

So sad for AD but I think clay just saved her years of heartache, you could tell he wasn’t in the right place from the off. AD deserves a partner and not an ongoing project.

jay55 · 06/03/2024 16:59

I was relieved for AD. She should not have been settling for Clay.
Awful way for it to happen but wow did she look amazing.

It's kind of sad the couple that said yes have had no screen time other than the bizarre contraception conversation.

Rosiiee · 06/03/2024 17:57

Screw you Clay! Nobody gonna make my girl AD cry. Go kick rocks with open toed shoes!

redboots765 · 06/03/2024 18:12

😂 I know, I could have cried for her too. He did say several times that he didn't't think he was ready. AD insisted it was all or nothing..

He repeatedly stated his concerns about his emotional state and needing therapy.
He stayed out and didn't come home to his fiancé..

What's that mumsnet saying "when someone shows you who they are..."

His head needs ripping off for not telling her before the wedding, cruel and immature imho.
She is a fabulous women and she deserves better, she won't be short of good men now...did you see that girl dance ❤️

usernother · 06/03/2024 21:10

Clay told her and over again who he was and his fears that he'd be unfaithful. I think she thought she'd be able to change him. I wonder if he was encouraged to go through with the ceremony by the producers? It was a cruel thing to do, I felt so sorry for her. I loved the way Clay's mum told his dad off for treating her badly.

Rubyrubyrubyruby123 · 06/03/2024 21:19

Poor AD.

BIossomtoes · 06/03/2024 23:09

His head needs ripping off for not telling her before the wedding, cruel and immature imho.

Totally agree. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. Just awful.

GandTeaForMe · 06/03/2024 23:17

Agree with you all about Clay and AD so let’s move on to Amy and Johnny.

strong opinion coming up: I think Amy is the most beautiful, classic bride of all of the LiB brides. She looked stunning, natural, demure, and they’re a lovely couple.

i felt the families meshed well too. Lovely to have her brother walk her down the aisle and overall they all just seem so wholesome.

i have a good feeling and hope they last the distance.

GandTeaForMe · 06/03/2024 23:17

Ps I wouldn’t be surprised to find AD and Clay back together by the reunion episode

magentacloud · 07/03/2024 00:16

Bad season. I was not remotely invested in any couple.

If AD had taken those huge furry umbrellas off her eyes she would have seen what was apparent in every scene with Clay, and I only watched them in fastforward mode - he was completely freaked out by the idea of marriage.

Chelsea whining and projecting and manipulating to the bitter end. Although that was some weird editing shenanigans that went down in their final scene. It was kind of Jimmy to not put her through a wedding, and smart of production to not insist he go through with the charade. Would have needed a swat team to handle the fallout.

Johnny and Amy seem nice. I liked her little brother doing his air toast.

Plumchumm · 07/03/2024 00:34

Unpopular opinion - I don’t think Jonny really loves Amy. She gave that whole beautiful speech at the alter and he hadn’t prepared any vows at all - just said ‘I can’t wait’ in response. Doesn’t seem emotional or nothing.

The entire season was the worst I’ve seen; and I’ve been watching since day one. Really disappointing. The only good part was, as unfortunate as it was for AD, she deserves better and I’m glad Clay said no. Hopefully now she can see that she deserves better.

Asiatoyork · 07/03/2024 04:37

I do agree that AD wouldn’t have been happy with Clay, so in the long run it’s best. Everything he always said was about him - his needs, her as a foil and in relation to him.

GandTeaForMe · 07/03/2024 07:14

@magentacloud ”huge furry umbrellas” has just made my day. I was obsessed with her lashes throughout this season and your comment absolutely nails it.

I don’t know how her poor natural lashes can stand the weight of them!

redboots765 · 07/03/2024 07:43

I almost spat my tea out at the "huge furry umbrellas"

I hate that look, so fake. AD's looked like they belonged on a hoover attachment not a face 😂

I was a bit surprised by Johnny's lack of speech too, I had a sinking feeling for a moment. I think they are a bit bland as a couple, but some of the best marriages I know are like that.

Rosiiee · 07/03/2024 09:53

Can’t wait for the reunion now 😂
