I'm really enjoying Manifest atm. Nearing the end of Season 3.

Lots of things on here already I'd definitely recommend but one not mentioned yet that's excellent is Reacher on Amazon Prime.

QueenBitch666 · 04/02/2024 15:10

Gomorrah. Like the Sopranos on steroids. And far superior imo

Piemam · 04/02/2024 19:15

@TimeIhadaNightCapwithSanta please share your thoughts! I have no one in real life that has watched and I just love it. @PrawnDumplings tell us what you plumped for? Would be great to branch out.

Februaryfeels · 04/02/2024 20:28

On the back of this thread I've made a start on the Queens Gambit. Loving it so far

TimeIhadaNightCapwithSanta · 04/02/2024 20:37

@Piemam - have you seen all 4 seasons?

Just watched Mr and Mrs smith on prime which was great.

Breaking bad and The Ozarks if you didn't see them when they came out.

I came on to say Mr and Mrs Smith! Much better than I expected.

Piemam · 04/02/2024 20:58

@TimeIhadaNightCapwithSanta I have seen it all... a few times! Keep picking up on bits I missed or overlooked first time round- it's quite rich in themes in places, and I didn't catch it all. Plus, like I said, I love it.

I'm really enjoying it. A friend mentioned it years ago but I didn't have Netflix at the time. I 'started' it last year maybe, not realising there were 4 series, and that the one series then on Netflix was season 4! I watched a couple if episodes before realising!

It's intriguing. I sort of know what happens at the end which is probably for the best. I have high expectations of dramas and now, because I know what's coming up, I won't be disappointed. I think it's very clever.

Not sure how old these are… Currently watching good girls. How to get away with murder was amazing too.

DillDanding · 04/02/2024 21:19

I loved Better Things so much. It was beautiful and poetic.

caringcarer · 04/02/2024 21:31

The Good Doctor.

TheSproutOfWrath · 04/02/2024 21:33

Animal Kingdom. We called our new dog Pope from it as he's such a nutter !

Beautyofthedark · 04/02/2024 21:35

The Americans (Disney+). Six seasons. Amazing, underrated show.

Set in 1980s America, two (deep) undercover Soviet spies posing as happily married All-American couple. Even their two teenaged children don't know their true identities (at first).

Is as much about the emotions and relationships as it is the espionage. Has pretty much everything I want from a series - believable, well-developed characters, amazing script and plot, tension and a flawed hero (or two). Also has probably the best season finale of anything I've seen.

I watched it for the first time a few years ago and I still haven't found anything that comes close.

PaddingtonsHat · 04/02/2024 21:41

Shrinking on Apple TV- Brett Goldstein from Ted Lasso was involved.

tennissquare · 04/02/2024 22:42

@Beautyofthedark , I loved the Americans so much and watched all 6 series in 2 weeks during the pandemic. Sometimes I wish I still had it to watch.

I don't care how old things are. So much to watch out there!

The Morning Show is ace. Didn't think I'd like it, had Jen An down as a soppy romantic actor but she is brilliant in this, as are all the characters.

Headphonehair · 05/02/2024 09:27

In that case…. Queen of the south too
