Anyone else waiting excitedly for this year's bunch of arseholes?

Not RTFT as watching on catch up but I am cringing at how bad they are.

Ellmau · 01/02/2024 22:23

The girls didn't win, the boys lost.

Why weren't both piemen in the kitchen? Although the food would have been fine if it was served on time.

Another food task next week...

Steve looks a bit like Tim Currie.

Yes! That’s what I said - circa Clue era

AnImaginaryCat · 01/02/2024 22:31

Watching that bit on You've Been Fired of the worse food things reminded me of how The Apprentice used to be brilliant- mostly just from the ready meal clip of all that popping of the film during the presentation 🤣

I remember that from the first time round and I was in stitches then and I was when it was shown tonight

The one who thinks he's easy on the eye...!! Hahaha no!

Unless he was being sarcastic?

Overloadimplode · 01/02/2024 22:44

They all seem amazingly good looking this year. And a bit more interesting. Some musicians and medics. I think it will be a good watch, despite the 1st task disaster. I loved seeing the Highlands. The away days looked like a lot of fun, it is always food that complicates things. I don't know why they pay £40 a head to cook the food themselves. Business people don't need to know how to cook.

Yes. It was definitely the case it make you laugh more than cringe yourself inside out.

However this lot do seem, on first appearance, slightly less idiotic.

Still don't get why the have to pay £60 for what is effectively raw ingredients. I'm full sure they didn't have to do this. Or when they had to cook they got guidance from an expert.

StillCreatingAName · 01/02/2024 23:00

The preview for next week shows another kitchen task, so assuming disaster awaits. I found the last series had too many food tasks, hoping there’s at least one challenge this year which is to source a catering company who will actually do the cooking for them to fit their budget, theme or whatever.

Oh my, just watching, how many times is loch going to be pronounced lock

Girls have no cause to celebrate really!

Ah, but they did make a ‘consecutive’ decision! 🙄

Flamme · 01/02/2024 23:38

IWFH · 01/02/2024 21:50

Well neither team won did they? One team was just ever so slightly less shite than the other...

I'm not sure the girls can even claim that. They were lucky enough to have punters who were less hard-nosed than the boys' punters when it came to asking for a discount. If I'd had an inedible meal like that I suspect I'd be asking for quite a lot more than 40% by way of a refund.

Flamme · 01/02/2024 23:42

Baby apprentices must learn at their mother's knees that if things are looking dodgy for you, you should accuse one of the others of contributing nothing to the task. No matter how much everyone else fucks up, Sugar always goes for the alleged non-contributor, it's incredibly predictable.

clary · 01/02/2024 23:45

Yes @Piggywaspushed we also thought Tim Curry - in Home Alone 2

I also wondered how old Ollie was - turns out, 27, but Virdi is just 24! Agree @BotterMon I was rooting for Ollie to stay as the only one without a beard (Or a beard snood).

We thought Virdi should have gone but maybe he is better TV.

MarieKlepto · 01/02/2024 23:49

That was hilarious. Absolute nonsense. We'll charge you £40/£60 a head to tell you how to make lunch/give you the ingredients. They were 6 miles from a Sainsbury's superstore and roughly 12 miles from a Tesco superstore. I realise they can't cook but they could just have nipped down the road and bought everything for less than a tenner a head and bunged it in the oven.

Seeingadistance · 01/02/2024 23:54

They are all numpties, but on the upside the women aren’t all pumped up lips and plastic eyebrows like last year.

Ellmau · 01/02/2024 23:58

Virdi is just 24!

Gosh, I would have put him at 10 years older than that.

BoreOfWhabylon · 02/02/2024 00:31

Loved this! Much better than recent series have been. And I'm pleased to see that identikit orange face, slug brows and hyperinflated lips are no longer a feature.

Tigresswoods · 02/02/2024 06:25

I just loved the "care assistant" look that both teams were rocking.

Acatdance · 02/02/2024 07:34

The DJ should have gone - wasting ages with his crap routine which clearly bored the punters. Without that they'd have been on time for lunch.

EffortlessDistraction · 02/02/2024 08:22

I guess they keep doing cooking tasks for two reasons. Firstly it make great "car-crash" watching. Secondly it really does test them on team-work, budgetting, scheduling, timing, following rules etc.

Ellmau · 02/02/2024 08:22

On the plus side, I feel they aren't quite as shouty in the boardroom as previous years. Early days though.

newnamethanks · 02/02/2024 08:44

Is the guy that can't count a doctor of medicine or has he got a PhD in something else? Wouldn't want him writing a prescription for me.

feelingalittlehorse · 02/02/2024 09:08

My one aim in life is to be drafted in as an Apprentice away-day attendee. Alan Sugar, if you are reading- I volunteer for the laughs!

RonSwansonsChair · 02/02/2024 09:15

I think delaying them leaving, when they absolutely had to be gone by 7pm was the ultimate downfall of the boys & is what pissed the punters off so much they asked for such a large refund.
Maybe it was the way it was edited, but it felt like they were asking to leave for hours! and the boys kept trying to get them engaged in something new. I felt sorry for those poor Scottish dancers!
