I love MAFS Australia, and it's started again this week in Oz. Does anyone fancy a watch along? I watch on SouthHemiTV.

Already desperate to discuss the first two couples.

Timothy might be old enough to be Jayden’s dad but he’s got a quarter of his emotional intelligence. What on earth has he done to make you dislike him? I love the way he’s got Lucinda’s back in a respectful, kind way. The women are way better than the men this series, apart from Tori who’s a horror, they seem like a really lovely bunch.

Respectful? He kept telling Lucinda what he wanted to hear from her. Either they were having sex and therefore all was wonderful or it was complete waste of time. There are no halfway measures with that twit!

BIossomtoes · 29/02/2024 09:00

I think we watched a different programme!

brittanyfairies · 29/02/2024 09:10

I dislike Jayden from his confession about making his ex watch him while he had sex with her friend, I can't get past that.

But also Lucinda is fine with Timothy, she told him he was fine, that they were getting on better, he just wanted to stir up the pot, I agree he was telling her what he wanted to hear from her. The thing is with Lucinda, she's emotionally intelligent and not stupid, if she didn't want to be there she wouldn't be.

I agree with you about his past behaviour but I’m a great believer in acknowledging shit behaviour, learning from it and moving on.

Essentially Jayden was saying exactly the same thing as Lucinda’s dad - why is one applauded and the other criticised? Emotional intelligence and not being stupid has never been an obstacle to being abused. A lot of women stay in shit relationships when everyone around them can see they should leave.

canina · 29/02/2024 09:45

Timothy has anger issues and is pretending to get on better with Lucinda to save face. He is being pulled up on his behaviour and he does not like it one bit.

seafoamgreenhair · 29/02/2024 10:08

What on earth has he done to make you dislike him?

His confession was revolting - revenge sex with ex's best friend in front of ex (allegedly). Lucinda told him politely to back off, things had really improved with Timothy and her - and he disrespected her request. Even when Lucinda defended Timothy during the dinner, he kept piling it on.

Majorityofthree23 · 29/02/2024 10:45

I think Timothy is trying and Lucinda respects that. Not easy in your 50's with all the bad luck he's had. (I do love his one liners) Lucinda had his back and did tell Jayden she was happy and things were improving. Think I'd have more respect for Jayden if he'd pulled Jack up last week! I think he was looking for a fight. (Not much airtime when all going well in your relationship and they do seem very happy which is lovely)

seafoamgreenhair · 29/02/2024 11:34

Lucinda's dad spoke one-on-one with Tim, on his level, and used teasing and humour and straight-talking to make his point. He disarmed him. He was trying to help Tim, and his daughter.

Jayden accosted him at a dinner party, with a pugnacious attitude, and after Lucinda had told him to leave off his worrying for her and that things were going well now. He was trying to rubbish Tim.

I don't agree he was saying exactly the same thing as Lucinda's dad at all.

BIossomtoes · 29/02/2024 12:04

He was. As you so rightly point out, the difference was in the delivery. I’m not sure recommending to a guy that he has a one night stand with your daughter is something I’d feel comfortable with. It certainly shocked the woman from the production team.

canina · 29/02/2024 12:19

Lucinda also said "we've been getting on for the last 24 hours" since her Father pointed out his failings. Not a great endorsement of their time together is it....😬

Multiple grooms are not sleeping with their wives. And Jack is actively leading his wife, who he is not sleeping with, on.

He targeted the one groom whose wife asked him to drop it.

canina · 29/02/2024 12:57

Lucinda does not enjoy this kind of drama and would not participate, so asked him to stop - this does not mean she doesn't know what's going on

seafoamgreenhair · 29/02/2024 12:59

Well, I don't agree with your read of "what's going on"!

canina · 29/02/2024 13:01

You think Timothy is genuinely interested in her?

seafoamgreenhair · 29/02/2024 13:05

I think they are building a lasting friendship.

It’s not Friendship at First Sight. That isn’t why she’s there.

Never in a million years did I think I'd be a MAFS fan. I watched highlights of some of it on Gogglebox but thought nah not for me.

However, not feeling well, so watched latest one (Tim and Sara, Cassandra and Tristan).

I don't think in a million years Tim and Sara will stay together, yes Tim is hot, but he's got a dodgy look in his eye and his best man speech, ffs what on earth was that about?! And no, he's prob not over his ex from 6 months ago. Sara irritates me a bit, high maintenance, wants it all, thinks she's it, but she seems insecure too, seems a typical hot Latina with the storming off after the honeymoon meal!

Now Tris and Cass - Cass seems lovely but does she still have trust issues after her soul mate dying? Tris irritated me slightly, it's like he expects her to love every little thing he does and woe betide if she doesn't!

And now I love it!

Lucinda seems happy to stay, and genuinely fond of Timothy. He has said all of his relationships began as friendships.

Regardless of how things end up between them, they did not need some self-righteous dude with a manbun to tell them how to run their relationship - especially after Lucinda privately made it clear to Jayden to leave it alone.

FenellaBestwick · 29/02/2024 20:28

I predict a huge shock for Tori at the end when they show hidden out-takes. She'll see that men's session with Alessandra when Jack says he doesn't fancy her at all & she'll finally wake up.

BIossomtoes · 29/02/2024 21:00

He has said all of his relationships began as friendships.

I bet the one with the 23 year old didn’t.

haveyougotamin · 29/02/2024 21:04

I thought episodes were released on Thursdays, but nothing coming up for me today. Anyone know what days we get new eps please?

canina · 29/02/2024 21:05

Sunday/Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday

May have been a work colleague. I do find it odd you find one age-gap relationship (if it involves Timothy) a worse history and indicator of character and taste than Jayden's sick revenge fantasy. Dicky's last relationship was with someone 27 years younger than him.

FenellaBestwick · 01/03/2024 08:41

Sara's dress - that's what happens when you put your posh frock through the tumble drier 😆
