A quiet corner of MN for serious addicts of Kdrama, or the K-curious. Most of our viewing is drawn from Netflix and Viki, with a sprinkling of AmazonPrime, AppleTV and Disney+. There are also platforms streaming content illegally if you go looking. We don’t promote them as they are peppered with pop-ups of “Olga” and friends offering a good time, but we can point you in the right direction. We also dip into Japanese, Taiwanese & Chinese drama as & when.

In categorising series, its important to note most Korean dramas have multiple strands - e.g. supernatural, romance and a thriller; crime series with fantasy elements. Genre-busting mash-ups are normal. Series that are tagged as dark may also have moments of comedy or the absurd, likewise fluff can have heavier moments. Writer/actor Simon Pegg referred to it fondly as “tonal chaos” - it’s part of kdrama’s charm. I'm really enjoying First Responders Saram - brilliant high octane nonsense with occasional proper heartwrench and good if low key slow burn romance. (I do have some issues with the quality of model making for autopsies ...) But be aware that Disney have done you dirty again because only first season available in Europe and it ends on a cliffhanger.

I’m watching ep 4 of Wedding Impossible while dinner is in the oven. FL’s dessert ‘buffet’ around the 30 mins mark looks really good. 🤤 The Jung Kyung-Po cameo will please some of you - he looked super dapper. 😄

Think I might need to wait for the end of Dr Slump. Like others I really want to get into it as PHS is adorable but need to wait it out. Rather peeved about the Disney+ situation - might need to look for an offer. I am enjoying Secret Royal Inspector & Joy, as Ok Taec-yeon is doing his slightly goofy comedy but with strong handsome vibes v well. Also been seeing some clips of Na In-woo on variety shows and I might need to change my opinion a little as he comes across as a sweetie.

I keep seeing clips of Wedding Impossible and really want to watch!! No time now till later in the week....

@Rowdythree I'm loving Doctor Slump! PHS is adorable in it. I found his character in Strong Girl a little creepy but he is so wholesome in this (I know most people love him in String Girl though). I even like the annoying brother 🫣😆 He seems like a typical teen (although am unclear on the age he is meant to be!). Also rooting for the friends to get together. There's definitely not much of a plot, but it's just nice.

My Name is Loh Kiwan looks very bleak! I'm not sure I will go for it, even though Song Joong Ki is my absolute fave.

Much as I’m enjoying the absolute romp through credulity-stretching The First Responders on Disney+, the location of the human remains & inept disposal technique in ep 3 has taken it to a whole new level. It would have been impossible not to notice the smell, surely?
